Laura Lockett, Director-University Print & Mail

laura-lockett.jpgLaura is passionate about all things print, design, and mail! 2023 is her 37th year with Sacramento State. She has been with University Print (formerly Reprographics) her entire career and added University Mail in 2010. During her career, she’s held several roles from department secretary, graphic designer, and production supervisor to assistant to the director. Laura became the Director in 2016. She loves playing a role in finding solutions that meet the needs of our clients. Print, design, and mail are constantly changing. Each day brings new challenges and the opportunity to learn something new. The shop has received numerous awards from the Association of College and University Printers (ACUP) and the In-plant Print & Mail Association (IPMA) over the years and she is proud of her team's commitment to excellent service and quality products. Laura has made it a priority to build relationships with faculty, staff, students, vendors, peers, and community colleagues. These relationships help her to not only keep current with technology and trends but also enable me to build a successful team to accomplish a variety of goals. A couple of accomplishments that she is proud of are the implementation of our web-to-print solution Print Shop Pro in 2019. This software is how the campus community places print orders and was especially valuable during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, her team added a student portal to Print Shop Pro and expanded our services to support student class-related print projects. Whether it's a graphic design student project or a poster for the doctorate program, they value playing an active role in the educational mission of the campus. Laura considers herself blessed to have a career that challenges her, and an amazing team of industry professionals and colleagues that she can call friends.

Fun Fact: Laura loves to bake!
