CSU Learn @ Sacramento State

What is CSU Learn?

CSU Learn is a learning management system (LMS) provided by SumTotal/Skillsoft and adopted by the California State University. CSU Learn allows the CSU to assign and track mandatory compliance trainings as well as other professional development opportunities.

CSU Learn offers all of your required compliance trainings and more than 75,000 online lessons, videos, e-books, and classes. All employees will use CSU Learn for their required compliance trainings.

Browser Advisory: To ensure a successful completion of your mandatory training courses in CSU Learn, be sure you use only Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox browsers. Do not use Internet Explorer, Safari, or Microsoft Edge as CSU Learn does not work well in these browsers. Using other than the recommended browsers may result in the system not registering that you've completed a training.

Accessing CSU Learn

You can access CSU Learn in one of several ways:

  1. When you receive an email notifying you of an assigned training, a link to CSU Learn and instructions for accessing the site and training will be included. You can click on the link contained in the email to access the Sac State CSU Learn homepage.
  2. You can log into your My Sac State account and find a link to CSU Learn in your Employee Center. This link will take you to the Sac State CSU Learn homepage.
  3. You can log onto CSU Learn using the following link: https://csu.sumtotal.host/core/dash/home/Home_Sacramento (you may be taken to the CSU login screen first. Just select Sacramento from the drop-down menu, then log in using your Sac State credentials. You will be taken to the Sac State CSU Learn homepage).

Sample CSU Learn Assignment Email

When will I receive these emails?

First assignment: You will receive emails from the system when you are first assigned a course and reminder emails that you still need to complete a course, as well as emails notifying you that you are overdue if you fail to complete the course by the due date.

Recertification: In the event you have already completed a course and are due to complete it again (recertify), you will receive an email from the system approximately 30 days prior to the expiration date of your current certification and each week until you complete it or the certification expires. In the event your certification expires, you will receive reminder notices that you are now expired and need to complete the course to remain in compliance.

If you have any problems logging into CSU Learn, contact Regeena Lewis, CSU Learn Campus Administrator, for assistance at csu-learn@csus.edu.

Mandatory Compliance Training Information

As employees of Sacramento State and the CSU, we are required to complete mandatory trainings to remain in compliance with federal and/or state law, and CSU policy. While there are several compliance trainings which are required of all Sac State employees, you may be assigned additional trainings based on your role, job, or other factors, such as use of a Procurement Card.

But how do you remember which trainings you need to take and when?

The button below will take you to a guide that will provide information on the various mandatory trainings, who needs to take them, when they are assigned and how long you have to complete them, and how often you need to repeat the trainings.

If you have questions regarding any of these trainings or whether you need to take or have taken them, please contact Regeena Lewis, CSU Learn Campus Administrator, at csu-learn@csus.edu.

This list will be updated as needed to comply with applicable laws and/or CSU policies.
