LinkedIn Learning

LinkedIn Learning offers unlimited access to thousands of business, leadership, technical, and creative courses, with new content added weekly. LinkedIn Learning features career growth and development, professional certificate programs, and learning pathways for skills development. (LinkedIn Learning is separate from and different than LinkedIn social media.) Content is bite-sized and can be played any where, any time on employee desktop, mobile, and tablet devices. Their convenient mobile app also makes it easy to download videos for offline viewing.

All active staff, faculty, administrators, and many auxiliary employees have access to this powerful learning platform.

First-time Users

When employees are hired, an email is auto-generated with an invitation to join LinkedIn Learning. Simply follow the instructions provided in the email. The first time an employee activates their LinkedIn Learning account, they will be asked to provide a short series of questions about career goals and their training and upskilling interests. This is an important part of the process and will enable the employee to receive personalized training recommendations from the platform. Employees do not need to create or link an existing LinkedIn social media account to their university-provided LinkedIn Learning license.

Common Questions

I have a LinkedIn profile. Do I have to connect it to LinkedIn Learning?

No, as this is an individual preference. Some employees want the courses they view or the learning certificates they earn to be displayed on their personal profile, while others do not want that information shown to their contacts. You have the choice.

Do students have access to the platform?

No, however students have access to our other learning platform CSU Learn.

Will my manager be able to see what courses I'm taking?

No. There are only a few LinkedIn Learning administrators on campus, and their role is primarily to provide technical support.
