Black Excellence

Join us for Hornet Experience: Black Excellence on September 5, 2026! Discover what is means to be a Hornet! Join Sacramento State's Admissions & Outreach office for a day of exploration, support and celebration.

What to Expect

Date: September 5, 2026

Time: 1:15pm - 4:40pm (for MOU partners) or 2:15pm - 5:30pm (for general prospective students)

Location: Provided upon registration

At the event you will:

  1. Go on a tour of our beautiful campus.
  2. Visit the Black Honors College and learn about the requirements and benefits.
  3. Learn about what makes Sacramento State special and the application process.
  4. Get help with your application from the Admission's & Outreach office. We recommend bringing a transcript to help with your application. This is optional as some students might be in different stages of the application process.
  5. When you are finished, you are welcome to attend our tailgate and football game. This is optional as well.

Sacramento State vs. Mississippi Valley State Football Game

Date: September 5, 2026

Time: 3:00pm - 7:00pm

Location: Student Lot 8 & Stadium

After the event you can attend the Campus Life tailgate starting at 3pm leading up to the game at 7pm and end the evenining cheering on the Hornets at our Black Excellence Night football game. Tickets are complimentary and optional for those who attend our event.
