Sacramento State Colors

The University's primary colors are Sac State Green (PMS 343) and Sac State Gold (PMS 4252). Expanded color palettes support these colors for use in formal, standard and casual voice applications as well as in web development and other digital communication color guidelines have been established for the color percentages appropriate for use in each voice, but in all case Sacramento State "owns" green.

Formal Voice Color Palette

The formal voice color palette is reserved for communications that are dignified, formal and institutional. When creating official or formal Sacramento State collateral, green and gold should always be the prominent colors, with green the dominant color. Formal communications use 90% of the formal color palette, 10% may use accent colors from the standard voice color palette.

Casual Voice Color Palette

Casual voice colors are for on-campus communications only. These colors are not appropriate for web applications. Casual communications are primarily targeted at our current student community. Casual communications must use at least 10% of the primary colors with Sac State Green dominant and may use up to 90% of the casual, standard and formal voice color palettes.

Web colors include formal and standard palettes only, the formal voice includes a modified palette with additional gold options that are only available for web presentation. Green should always be the dominant color. Formal communications use 90% of the formal color palette, 10% of the communication may use accent colors from the standard voice color palette. Standard voice materials must use at least 30% of the primary colors with Sac State Green dominant and may use up to 70% of the additional supporting colors in either the formal or standard palette.
