Ideas flourish at Sacramento State

Sacramento State is the home of a dynamic, inclusive, and quality education. We are creating the next generation of leaders who will positively influence decision making, public policy, economic prosperity, and the entrepreneurial spirit of our region.

Located in the epicenter of the world’s fifth-largest economy, Sacramento State's College of Business Administration (CBA) is passionate about developing engaged, responsible, and inclusive leaders who will work hard to enrich their communities, both locally and globally. CBA students receive a rigorous and transformative business education at Sacramento State. They graduate with the skills needed to manage and lead through the changes and issues that are shaping the 21st century.

CBA is a valuable partner of local, regional and state decision-makers. The college is a driver of workforce development and new business leadership, an invaluable resource of intellectual capital, and a leader of economic and social innovation. CBA is committed to fortifying its place as the educational backbone of the Sacramento business community and serving as a launching pad for students as they pursue careers in a global, modern workforce.

We invite you to partner with CBA as we work to be the leading workforce development institution in one of the most economically important regions in the world.

On the Rise: The Campaign for Sacramento State, is supporting the College of Business Administration as it seeks funding to advance these strategic objectives:

  • Expand CBA's role as a leader in business education, applied scholarship, and impactful and engaged partnerships within local, regional, national, and global communities.
  • Transform and deepen instructional opportunities through the latest technologies in business concepts and analytics.
  • Create new opportunities for partnership through endowed professorship, the Center for Small Business, and the Business Honors Program.

Campaign Priorities

Student Success through Scholarships

  • Double the number of scholarships which would provide tuition assistance to a greater number of CBA students.
  • Increase scholarship funding by raising $6 million, thereby giving a transformative business education to more students, especially those from underserved communities.

Teaching and Technology

  • Secure the first endowed professorship in the CBA to enhance the recruit and retention of the highest-quality educators.
  • Update CBA technology to provide our students with extensive experience as well as a keen focus on mastering business analytics and data visualization.

Center for Small Business (CSB)

  • Expand classroom-community partnerships that connect student teams with small businesses and entrepreneurs. The students provide the businesses with critical analysis and technical management assistance needed to start, stabilize, and grow their companies. At the same time, Sacramento State students gain valuable hands-on learning experiences that can advance their careers quickly after graduation.
  • Seek programmatic endowments to open up more opportunities for partnerships with local businesses, provide more practical experiences for CBA students, and bring new workshops on campus hosted by CSB—one of the oldest and largest centers of its kind in the United States.
