Message from the Chief

I am excited and honored to have been sworn in as Sacramento State’s Police Chief. I am privileged to lead the women and men of one of the finest police departments in our region. Sacramento State is a wonderful community that encompasses our students, staff, and faculty.

As a 28-year law enforcement professional, I am fortunate and thankful to be a member of this community and to serve the public safety needs of the entire campus community. Our goal is to remain a highly respected, professional Police Department that serves as a model for the region and all CSU campuses throughout the State.

Our Police Department is only as strong as its officers and professional staff. Sacramento State Police Department is fortunate to have some of the finest public servants in the Sacramento region. I ask three things from each member of our department: 1) Protect the campus, 2) continue to build community trust, and 3) be approachable.

Through the dedicated, hard work of all, we will continue to make Sacramento State a safe environment to learn, work, thrive, and visit.

As always, we thank you for your continued partnership.

STINGERS UP!

Chet Madison Jr.
