NorCal AngelCon Applications Open

NorCal AngelCon is designed to build and strengthen the early-stage investment ecosystem in the Greater Sacramento region by educating new angel investors, empowering promising startups, and bridging capital, talent, and innovation to accelerate growth of high-potential ventures.

NorCal AngelCon UPDATE!

We have an important update that the NorCal AngelCon: Deep Tech Edition will now be folded into our 2026 NorCal AngelCon coming this Fall. Applications are open and available for this opportunity.

If you applied for the NorCal AngelCon Deep Tech Edition you are still in consideration for the $300,000 in non-dilutive capital available through the Accelerate CA Hub - Innovation Grants.

Amended Timeline and Structure

Accelerate CA Jan - May 2026 - Deadline to apply - March 30th -- Showcase event on May 7th

  • Focused on Agrifood Tech, Health & Life Sciences, Clean Tech.
  • Ideal for pre-seed - pre-series A companies.
  • Must be located in the 8 county Greater Sacramento Region.
  • Non-dilutive funding of $300,000 will be awarded with a minimum award of $50K.


AngelCon: May-November 2026 - Deadline to apply - May 27th -- Showcase event on November 18th

  • All sectors welcome - there will be specific and additional programming to support "deep tech" companies navigating high technical, regulatory, and market risks.
  • Ideal for pre-seed - pre-series A companies.
  • Must be located in or have significant ties to the 8 county Greater Sacramento Region ie: team members, investors, key customers or collaborators in market.
  • Selected company will be offered estimated $100K equity investment.

Startups

If you’re early in your journey — perhaps spinning out from university research in life-sciences, ag-tech, food & agriculture, biomanufacturing, or medical devices — NorCal AngelCon offers mentorship, capital readiness, access to space at Aggie Square, and a community designed to help you scale without leaving Sacramento.

  • June 30th | Semi-finalists notified
  • July – Oct | Founder training sessions
  • October 21st | Semi-finalist investor pitches & finalists selected
  • November 18th | AngelCon Showcase and Investment selection

Investors

If you are interested in entering the deep-tech space but have struggled to find entry points — this program gives you the tools, education, and network to invest in pre-seed and seed-stage ventures built on university IP, science, and engineering breakthroughs.
