¡Buenos días! Roundtable - Learn from LevelUp Founders

As part of Global Entrepreneurship Week - Sacramento, powered by Western Health Advantage, we are excited to bring to you an engaging breakfast roundtable in partnership with the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

The Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is excited to join 2023 Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW). In partnership with the Carlsen Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship we are calling on Hispanic small business owners, entrepreneurs, and business leaders to join a discussion on the opportunities for our small businesses in the Sacramento entrepreneurial ecosystem.

This breakfast event will also bring together graduates from our foundation's LevelUp Sacramento program. This is an ideal opportunity to learn about the different resources available to elevate your business. This session will be offered in English and Español.

Traction AMA with JDM

During Global Entrepreneurship Week 2023, presented by Western Health Advantage, we are excited to bring to you an AMA session with Josh David Miller (JDM), the founder of The Right Box and the creator of Traction, to discuss your burning questions as a founder.

The session will be an in-person opportunity for you to learn from JDM and ask specific questions about how you can gain tractions in your startup.


Potential topics of discussion:

  • The Customer Discovery process
  • Creating customer personas
  • Building business models that succeed
  • Establishing a testing mindset


About JDM:

Josh David Miller is a startup traction expert who has helped founders launch or scale more than 100 products. He is the founder of The Right Box, a studio that helps venture-backed startups use design thinking to find product-market fit, and the creator of Traction Thinking, a collection of resources for first-time founders looking to go to market sooner and scale faster.

JDM is praised for his ability to ask entrepreneurs the kinds of probing questions that create focus and clarity — and incite action. Driven to help entrepreneurs discover what works, he is the author of the weekly newsletter 3-2-1 Traction, and an active content creator on LinkedIn, YouTube, and TikTok.

This event is run in partnership with the California Mobility Center, College of Engineering and Computer Science at Sacramento State, and SMUD.

At this event you will have the opportunity to hear from a panel of leaders and innovators who will share their experience in this industry as well as where they see it going.

Impactful Innovations & Entrepreneurship in Health & Human Services

As we celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week 2023, powered by Western Health Advantage, we are honored to bring you a panel of service-focused health care professionals who became entrepreneurs. This event is in partnership with the College of Health & Human Services at Sac State.

Entrepreneurship is about problem-solving to create value for others. The professionals on this panel are undeniably focused on problem-solving relative to health and human services and, as a result, they are improving and enriching the life experience of the people they serve. The panelists will discuss their experiences as health care professionals who became founders of their own businesses.

CleanStart Spotlight Pitch

During GEW2023, CleanStart, in collaboration with BlueTechValley, and hosted by the Carlsen Center, is conducting its Fourth investor pitch event for clean tech startups. Our goal is to increase awareness of these promising startups by hosting networking events to hear what these companies are doing and introducing them to a broad range of potential investors, supporters, and peers.

November's Spotlight Pitch will feature four new companies who will present to a panel who will provide each presenter feedback and then questions will be taken from the attendees.

LevelUp E3 Sacramento Ecosystem Town Hall

The Sacramento Entrepreneurial Growth Alliance wants to hear from you and support you in advancing your entrepreneurial dreams!

Join this interactive Town Hall-style discussion where we will highlight the successes and challenges of the Sacramento region’s diverse entrepreneurs and small business owners. This dynamic event will kick off with a short keynote address by Chris Horton, Ecosystem Navigator of the Sacramento Entrepreneurial Growth Alliance.

Following the address, we'll invite entrepreneurs to share your journeys:

  • Why did you/do you want to start your business?
  • What does success look like for you?
  • What are you working on right now?
  • What challenges are you facing?
  • Your local entrepreneurial community leaders want to hear directly from you and then explore ways to remove barriers so that you can reach your full potential and achieve your entrepreneurial dreams.
