About the Center

The Center for Counseling and Diagnostic Services (CCDS) has been serving the Sacramento community through affordable counseling and educational testing since 1968.

Mission

The mission of the Center for Counseling & Diagnostic Services is to provide services within the Sacramento region to strengthen communities by providing interventions that meet the needs of individuals and families in our community. We strive 1) to provide affordable mental health care to people in need; 2) to provide affordable educational testing to families in need; and 3) to provide tutoring for children that need extra educational support.

Vision

We are committed to providing services that meet the needs of a variety of individuals, couples, and families through the training of new practitioners with the highest degree of professional and ethical competence. In order to accomplish this mission, the Center provides a range of educational testing and counseling services, including: personal counseling, career counseling, couple/family counseling, outreach programming, groups, workshops, and career, educational, and therapeutic assessment and diagnosis.

Clients Served

A wide range of cultural and ethnic backgrounds are seen at the Center. We work with children, adolescents, individuals, couples, and families. We offer groups and workshops, educational testing and tutoring. While we primarily work the community, we also support Sacramento State students by providing ongoing counseling interventions.
