Research Assistant

Vivian Tang is the Peter H. Shattuck Colonial American History Research Assistant.

Ms. Tang earned two bachelor’s degrees (History and Film Studies) at University of California, Davis. At Sac State, she completed her MA in History. Her research interests include the Philosophy of History; Education and Literacy; Visual art, literary and cultural studies; and racial capitalism in the Atlantic World.

Her article “Haiti In-Print: The Impact of the Early Black Press on Northern African American Social Reform, 1789-1838,” was published in the Spring 2019 edition of Clio, the award winning, student-run journal of California State University, Sacramento.
