About Scholarship For Service
The CyberCorps®: Scholarship for Service (SFS) program is designed to develop a competent cybersecurity workforce for the government sector. It provides students a scholarship in exchange for their service in federal, state, local, and tribal government. Through two previous SFS grants (2010 and 2015) Sacramento State has established a SFS program, increased security education into our curriculum and produced well-prepared graduates that met employers’ needs and were successfully placed in various federal and state agencies to date. Sacramento State has been awarded additional $3 million in funding from the National Science Foundation that will support students in computer science, computer engineering, or management information systems to become cybersecurity specialists over a period of five years starting in Fall 2023.
Important Deadlines
In alignment with guidance from the main SFS office and due to ongoing budget uncertainties and recent developments at the federal level, including a hiring freeze, the Sacramento State SFS Program will not be accepting new scholars for Fall 2025 until further notice.
