Students can find a list of NSM clubs here for those generally interested in scientific topic and those looking to find specific clubs for their major or department. Please submit a service ticket request to the NSM IT Department for any changes to the content below.

Biology Specific

  • BioCorps is a new student/faculty/staff volunteer organization.
  • The Field Biology Group is a student organization that offers students the opportunity to explore conservation and biological issues through field experience and contact with professionals.   • The Environmental Student Organization (ESO) is a group of diverse Sac State students who are committed to educating the campus and surrounding community on important environmental issues and to actively improving our environment with an emphasis on sustainability. Earth Sciences Groups

  • Geography Club is devoted to exploring our world and having a good time while doing it! We get involved and help raise geographical awareness by organizing activities in the community and at local schools. Like us on Geography Club facebook.
  • The Geology Club allows members the opportunity to enrich their academic experience through extracurricular social activities and programs centered on geological issues and topics. Like us on Geology Club facebook.

Math & Physics Groups

  • Math Club promotes mathematical inquiry and general interest on the Sacramento State University campus. This club is for anyone who has an interest in learning about math topics supplemental to those taught in classes.   • The Sacramento State Chapter of the Society of Physics Students (SPS) is part of the national professional society of physics students and their mentors. Like us on Society of Physics Students Facebook and follow SPS Instagram.
  • Women in Physics and Astronomy (WIPA) strives to provide resources and support students interested in physics and astronomy. Follow us on WIPA Instagram.
  • The Astronomy Club is the place to meet others with a fascination for space and all things in it! They have regular meetings in the planetarium, and organize observing events and road trips to fantastic clear-sky sites. Follow us on Astronomy Instagram.

Chemistry Specific

The CSU Sacramento chapter of the American Chemical Society was founded in 1997 to promote exchange between students studying chemistry and the chemical sciences at California State University, Sacramento. Another goal of this chapter is to provide outreach to the community through volunteer projects in schools and to participate in National Chemistry Week activities each year. Any students studying chemistry, biochemistry or simply want to participate and attend CSUS are eligible to join.   • NSM Joint Council (NSMJC) is a campus recognized organization, sponsored by ASI, which provides a forum for networking and collaboration among student leaders in the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics as well as providing an avenue for the student voice. Like us on NSMJC facebook.
  • Student Association of Forensic Scientists (SAFS) is a student organization designed to help its members learn valuable information regarding how to effectively pursue a career in the Forensic field. This is done by providing students with networking opportunities with professionals and other students who have been or are currently still in the field. Like us on SAFS facebook.
  • Student Association of Laboratory Scientists (SALS) is an academic club that provides information about all kinds of laboratory science fields and careers to our members with emphasis, but not limited to, clinical laboratory science. Like us on SALS Facebook or Instagram.
  • The Future Teachers in STEM (FTS) club is for everyone with an interest in teaching middle or high school STEM. Contact FTS on Instagram.

  • American Medical Student Association (AMSA): Our chapter is committed to promoting the aims of improving health care and its universal delivery by providing a community resource for individuals interested in medical careers. Like us on AMSA Facebook.
  • Chicanos/Latinos in Health Education (CHE) is an organization that aims to provide its members with valuable outreach opportunities, academic/peer support, and exposure to information and professionals from various health careers. Visit our Hornet Hub or Instagram for more info about CHE.
  • Delta Epsilon Mu: Nu Chapter is a professional fraternity for male and female college students in the United States who are interested in or currently studying in the pre-health field. In 1996, Delta Epsilon Mu was founded on the grounds of Binghamton University in New York with the goal of uniting students interested in various health fields.   • Future Black Doctors & Dentists (FBD&D) is a student-run organization that prepares African American undergraduate students for professional school either in medicine or dentistry. FBD provides mentorship, community service, and leadership skills to students as a resource to their development as successful physicians.
  • The Future Pharmacist Student Organization (FPSO ) strives to help and support students who are interested in pharmacy. We want pre-pharmacy students at CSU Sacramento to be knowledgeable about the world of pharmacy and become successful applicants when applying to pharmacy schools.   • Hmong Health Alliance (HHA): The purpose of the Hmong Health Alliance is to provide academic support, community-based internship opportunities, research opportunities, and leadership skills for CSUS pre-health students as well as promoting health and wellness for the underserved communities.   • Pre-Dental Association: The mission of the Sacramento State University Pre-Dental Association is to be a conduit for students interested in the dental field into the environment of the dental profession. We strive to impact our community with our philanthropy and community service programs. We support each other in pursuit of higher standards of educational excellence, community involvement and all around growth as citizens and future dentists.   • Pre-Physician Assistant Club (Pre-PA) is a networking group for CSUS students that are aspiring to go to Physician Assistant School. The club's goal is to work with students to expose them to the Physician Assistant career and pathways. Like us on Pre-PA facebook.
  • Pre-Health Professional Student Organization (PPSO)

Groups promoting Equity, Inclusion & Diversity in the Sciences

  • Bhagat Puran Singh Health Initiative: The CSU Sacramento chapter of BPSHI is dedicated to help the neglected communities around NorCal by providing the proper resources and knowledge to get those in need the help they deserve. In an effort to spread health awareness and social justice our members are helping improve the lives of many individuals amongst the underserved communities.   • The Multicultural Organization of Science Students (MOSS) was founded in 1979. We are a dedicated to providing a supportive system for students of diverse ethnic heritage, who are interestined in pursuing careers in the health professions, math and science research, and/or teaching.   • Queer in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (q-STEM) is driven toward creating a visible and inclusive community focused on LGBTQIA Identities within the STEM fields at Sacramento State. Our purpose is to create a safe space where students can celebrate their identities, bring awareness on issues affecting our community, and to cultivate STEM talent and leadership.   • SACNAS at Sac State promotes the mission of SACNAS at the local and national level. SACNAS (Society for Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science) is a society of scientists dedicated to advancing Hispanics/Chicanos & Native Americans in Science - from college students to professionals - to attain advanced degrees, careers, and positions of leadership.
