Why are you excited to work as a PAL Facilitator? I am excited to work as a PAL Facilitator because I want to make students passionate about science and see others succeed in CHEM 1A. I also look forward to working with other students and building a welcoming environment that promotes learning.

What do you like to do for fun or in your spare time? In my spare time, I enjoy watching movies on Netflix and spending time with family and friends.

Why are you excited to work as a PAL Facilitator? I am excited to work as a PAL facilitator because I want to share the knowledge I gained from my PAL facilitators. Likewise, I am very passionate about anatomy and cannot wait to discuss with other students and share tips I have picked up along the way. I hope they enjoy it as much as I do!

What do you like to do for fun or in your spare time? In my spare time I enjoy going for walks on the beach with my dogs and hanging out with friends and family. I also love dancing, specifically ballet!

'm excited to work as a PAL Facilitator because it is a great opportunity to heighten my academic skills across the board while simultaneously making new friends. What do you like to do for fun or in your spare time? Some things I like to do in my spare time are listening to music, watching movies with friends, taking naps, baking, and reading novels.

Why are you excited to work as a PAL Facilitator? I'm excited to be in a position to help guide students through new information and challenging courses. I love the scientific world, and I'm eager to help others in pursuing their careers in STEM. I'm also excited to be able to help people find connections in Sac State's student community.

What do you like to do for fun or in your spare time? I like to read novels, play videogames, and ride my bike on nature trails. I also love to travel and would love to go on a trip to Europe one day.

Eddie Muoki

Chemistry at first can be a very intimidating and challenging subject, but I want to bridge that gap and show others that they can excel with dedication and hard work. I know I can also benefit my peers by just being a great friend and an outlet of help throughout their academic career and life.

What do you like to do for fun or in your spare time? In my spare time, I enjoy listening to music and working out, and I like to indulge in self-improvement books/videos. I also enjoy hanging out with friends and analyzing different genres of films.

Why are you excited to work as a PAL Facilitator? I am excited to work as a PAL facilitator because I enjoy helping others succeed and want to help students build their confidence in their work. I feel as if PAL is so advantageous and provides students with very useful skills.

What do you like to do for fun or in your spare time? In my spare time, I usually listen to music, exercise occasionally, and go out with friends. I also enjoy watching all types of movies and TV shows.

Why are you excited to work as a PAL Facilitator? From my own experiences, I understand that STEM courses can be difficult. I am excited to work as a PAL Facilitator because I have experienced the academic and social benefits of taking PAL courses, including being more confident in my coursework and making new friends. I enjoy working with others and would like to help other students have a similar experience with PAL and STEM courses.

What do you like to do for fun or in your spare time? In my spare time, I like to take Ballet and Contemporary dance classes, listen to music, play board games, and write short stories.

Why are you excited to work as a PAL Facilitator? I’m excited to be a PAL facilitator to meet new people, make friends, and especially aid others when they struggle with math. Personally, math is my favorite subject, so I want to make it as easy as possible for others.

What do you like to do for fun or in your spare time? In my spare time, I enjoy watching dramas, trying new foods, and spending time with friends. I also really enjoy puzzles, but I never have enough time to complete one entirely.

Why are you excited to work as a PAL Facilitator? As a PAL facilitator, I'm excited to share my love of chemistry and help students grow confidence in themselves and their academic capabilities. Many students are intimidated by chemistry and often believe it is too difficult for them to learn, and I hope to lessen some of this fear and to inspire success and growth among the students I work with.

What do you like to do for fun or in your spare time? In my free time, I love reading, conducting research in my lab, going to the gym, and spending time with people who are important to me.

Why are you excited to work as a PAL Facilitator? I am excited to be a PAL facilitator as I seek to encourage students to develop their interests and knowledge in the sciences. Furthermore, I believe the group environment as well as guidance from facilitators greatly help increase confidence in going through challenging problems. Being a PAL student myself I found the class to be very helpful as it helped me academically as well as socially as I got to meet new people. I look forward to working with my students and hope to gain new knowledge from them as well as they go through their academic journey.

What do you like to do for fun or in your spare time? Some of things I like to do is to spend time with my family and crocheting.

What do you like to do for fun or in your spare time? I love to cook and bake! Chances are you'll find me stealing herbs from the arboretum after I forgot one from the store. I also love to talk about my dog, Beyblade.

Why are you excited to work as a PAL Facilitator? I'm excited to become a PAL facilitator because I look forward to helping others build a strong foundation in chemistry. As a PAL facilitator I'm also looking forward to fostering peer interest in all STEM fields.

What do you like to do for fun or in your spare time? I really enjoy plants so in my spare time I like tending to my vegetable and california native garden as well as going on nature walks and hikes when I get the opportunity.

Why are you excited to work as a PAL Facilitator? To be able to share a passion of science with others is so exciting! I look forward to watching people conquer the difficult study that is Chemistry and watching their confidence grow as they overcome these challenges. Anything can be learned as long as effort and practice is put in.

What do you like to do for fun or in your spare time? I enjoy dancing and doing art when I get the chance! I also love playing video games but most of my spare time is spent studying. Such is the life of a college student.

Why are you excited to work as a PAL Facilitator? I’m excited to be a PAL facilitator because I enjoy helping people and helping them work through challenging subjects. I’ve taken a couple PAL classes myself and know how helpful they can be. I look forward to be able to help people get a better understanding with chemistry and help grow student’s confidence in their STEM courses.

What do you like to do for fun or in your spare time? I really enjoy reading and tend to always be reading something. Some of my favorite genres are romance, fantasy and mystery novels. Other than reading I also like to hang out with my friends, watch tv when I have the time, or finding new coffee shops to try out.

Why are you excited to work as a PAL Facilitator? I'm excited to have the ability to boost students' confidence in the subject material and prepare them for assessments. I will strive to foster a welcoming and positive environment and help students fulfill their potential!

What do you like to do for fun or in your spare time? In my spare time, I exercise and play a plethora of video games such as Kingdom Hearts. I also enjoy watching horror movies, like Scream, and TV shows such as Survivor.

What do you like to do for fun or in your spare time? I love going on walks at parks to enjoy the fresh air, trees, and wildlife. It does wonders for my mental and physical health. When I’m trapped inside, I like to solve jigsaw puzzles, watch YouTube, and read.

Megan Pham

I am excited to work as a PAL Facilitator since taking PAL has helped me not only academically but also socially as I have made many friends while in PAL classes. Being a PAL facilitator, I am invested in seeing growth not only in my students but also my peers as I think that this will be a great learning opportunity for everyone.

What do you like to do for fun or in your spare time? In my free time I like spend time with my partner, usually watching anime together and playing with their dogs. When I am by myself, I like to play video games with Stardew Valley being my favorite video game.

What do you like to do for fun or in your spare time? I play a lot of video games in my free time on my computer, I like to read here and there as well as watch shows on streaming platforms and anime, as well as traveling with friends and creating new memories with those I love.

I am excited to work as a PAL Facilitator to build relationships with those involved in the Science and Math community, as well as grow my understanding of the two subjects. I've always enjoyed learning and giving to others, and PAL helps combine the best of both worlds for me to see peers happily succeed while we both grow.

What do you like to do for fun or in your spare time? In my spare time I love listening to music, playing with my two dogs, and hanging out with friends. Fun to me would be playing sports, video games, or enjoying the presence of others.

Why are you excited to work as a PAL Facilitator? I'm excited to help people grow in their confidence as mathematicians. It's really satisfying to see people learn new things; I'm happy to be a part of that. I'm excited to meet new people and see what I can learn from them as well. Sometimes I see new techniques or approaches to math problems I wouldn't have expected.

What do you like to do for fun or in your spare time? In my spare time I like to work on jigsaw puzzles, and I like to go the gym and try to catch fitness classes at the well whenever I can. I also like to spend afternoons with friends in midtown or at a coffee shop!

I understand math and science can be frustrating sometimes, but with a little guidance these subjects can actually be quite fun and interesting!

What do you like to do for fun or in your spare time? In my spare time I love to crochet, play with my crazy dog, or play basketball. I also enjoy watching movies and shows on Netflix.

Why are you excited to work as a PAL Facilitator? I am excited to work as a PAL Facilitator because this is a new experience for me, working with people my own age! I've been a tutor for high school and middle school students for quite a few years, and it'll be a fantastic opportunity to work with students my age. I also believe that students feel more comfortable and learn a little easier when it's another person just like them. So I'd like to build a little community for students to feel better about asking questions and taking the time to understand them without the pressure and fast pace of an actual classroom. I enjoy helping others learn math and maybe even grow to love it despite how difficult certain areas are!

What do you like to do for fun or in your spare time? In my spare time, I read, draw, and binge-watch tv shows/movies. My friend and I love going to the cinema to watch new movies and discuss them afterward, he's quite the movie nut and I'm along for the ride haha! My favorite genres for reading and media are fantasy, science fiction, mystery, thriller, adventure, and action. I don't draw as much anymore since I often study math but during breaks, I like to take my time and draw digitally on a tablet!

Why are you excited to work as a PAL Facilitator? I first learned about PAL by taking one of their math sessions as a student, and so I know first-hand just how beneficial it can be! Being a PAL facilitator gives me the opportunity to give to other students the same help that I got, and I'm really excited about that!

What do you like to do for fun or in your spare time? In my spare time I'm either knitting (a hobby I picked up over quarantine) and watching a movie (or really anything that looks vaguely interesting on Netflix), or studying at the library. When I'm not doing either of those things I'm probably looking for places to hike or finding a new beach to explore!

Why are you excited to work as a PAL Facilitator? I am excited to work as a PAL Facilitator because it gives me the opportunity to make a positive impact on students’ academic lives and help them create effective study strategies and mental frameworks. Physics can be a challenging STEM course, but it teaches the importance of having strong problem-solving skills and paying close attention to detail. I hope to be able to help students excel in this course and build confidence that translates into all other areas of their life.

What do you like to do for fun or in your spare time? I enjoy reading about psychology, watching mobster movies, and playing chess.

Why are you excited to work as a PAL Facilitator? I look forward to engaging with my peers in a collective learning process. The sciences are not easy but with collaboration they can be mastered. Taking PAL courses in the past have motivated me to be apart of a great resource and family environment for students.

What do you like to do for fun or in your spare time? I enjoy spending time with my family. We like to get together and get competitive playing card games. I’m a huge basketball fan so I love watching and playing when time permits. When the weather is nice, I like to go hiking, camping, and to the beach. Really, just any excuse to get out of the house sounds fun to me.

Why are you excited to work as a PAL Facilitator? I had so much fun taking PAL classes while learning ways to study and pass my classes that I want to be able to share that experience with others who need support. I am excited to watch people grow to enjoy subjects just I have when it becomes less of a struggle to more of a fun experience.

What do you like to do for fun or in your spare time? I'm more of a homebody so I enjoy binging TV shows or picking up new hobbies. My more recent hobby is cooking, and I have gotten pretty good at pasta dishes. I also enjoy taking time to go on a picnic when it's not too hot out.

I am deeply invested in the success of my students and find immense satisfaction in guiding them through their academic journey.

What do you like to do for fun or in your spare time? When I'm not facilitating PAL sessions, you'll find me at the gym working on my fitness, engrossed in the latest anime series, or enjoying quality time with friends and family. I'm also an avid gamer who believes that the strategic thinking required in video games can be applied to solving real-world problems. I look forward to bringing my diverse interests and enthusiasm for learning to the PAL community.

Why are you excited to work as a PAL Facilitator? I am excited to work with students as a PAL Facilitator to help them achieve their academic goals. As a former PAL student, I am inspired by my facilitator to create an environment that stimulates learning and growth. I want to allow students to make connections with the difficult concepts of BIO 25 and be able to carry on those techniques into additional courses. Being able to watch my students succeed and start understanding the material is my goal!

What do you like to do for fun or in your spare time? I like to do a lot of things in my spare time! During the winter I like to go ice skating with my friends and snowboarding with my family. I enjoy exploring nature through hiking, rock climbing, and swimming. Indoors I like to just relax in bed, watching movies and shows, reading a book, or be on facetime with friends.

Why are you excited to work as a PAL Facilitator? I'm so excited to be a PAL facilitator because I LOVE Bio 25. It was a really fun class for me and I would like to share that enjoyment with other people. I also loved working in groups and assisting my friends in their learning. Bio 25 can be a pretty rigorous course, but if you get the help you need, everything will be better than okay!

What do you like to do for fun or in your spare time? I am a very big movie person, especially Disney. I can rewatch the same movies all the time. I also like to paint and spend time with my younger siblings.

What do you like to do for fun or in your spare time? In my free time I enjoy sewing, baking, and traveling. My favorite place I’ve traveled to so far is Switzerland. I also watch Korean and Pakistani Dramas regularly!

Why are you excited to work as a PAL Facilitator? I’m excited to be a PAL facilitator because I want to be a significant part of student success here at Sac State. I want to help students understand the concepts surrounding anatomy and physiology that could seem very challenging from the surface. I hope to share my passion for the subject all while guiding students to their goals. I also look forward to providing a safe learning environment, being a support system for students, and watching the minds of my peers grow!

What do you like to do for fun or in your spare time? On my free time, I like to relax at home and focus on self-care! I really enjoy journaling, reading, and painting. I also like to take my dog for walks and catch up with friends.

Why are you excited to work as a PAL Facilitator? I am excited to be a facilitator because as a transfer student I know just how alone students can feel with schooling. I feel that by having access to this program, I can help students find a community they can belong to and instill more confidence in them so they can be better students overall.

What do you like to do for fun or in your spare time? In my spare time I like to go to the gym and spend time with friends outdoors. I'm also a football fanatic, so on weekends you can most likely see me yelling at a tv screen for the players to do better.

I took a PAL for stats before becoming a PAL facilitator and loved the model, when you work for the answer it truly sticks.

What do you like to do for fun or in your spare time? I like to do ceramics, workout, hang out with friends, travel, and cuddle with my dog Ruby.

Why are you excited to work as a PAL Facilitator? I am so excited to work as a PAL facilitator so that I can help other students grow and succeed in learning anatomy and physiology as well as directing them down the right path towards success in the career that they are striving for. I want my PAL classroom to be a safe space for students to explore their interests and become the best learner that they can be!

What do you like to do for fun or in your spare time? Along with anatomy and physiology, I am very passionate about fitness and weight training. I am a personal trainer at the Well, so I love working with clients and seeing them grow and reach their goals. I spend most of my time at the gym, studying or reading a good book.

Why are you excited to work as a PAL Facilitator? I'm excited to work as a PAL Facilitator because I love seeing students overcome challenges and succeed academically. I have never been as passionate for a class before Bio 121 and look forward to helping cultivate an appreciation and understanding of the course content. Additionally, I've gone to PAL for assistance with classes and feel that my experience there was vital to my becoming more confidant when tackling problems.

What do you like to do for fun or in your spare time? When I have moments of free time I love playing and teaching boardgames, going on hikes, and competing in video game tournaments. Another big hobby of mine is making costumes which I take to a few events/conventions every year. I especially love getting to travel around for these events and will take any chance I get to ride the train somewhere.

Why are you excited to work as a PAL Facilitator? I always enjoyed watching other people succeed and I would try my best to remove any possible obstacle that would hinder them. Becoming a PAL facilitator also gives me an opportunity to meet other people who all come from different backgrounds, which is extremely exciting.

What do you like to do for fun or in your spare time? In my spare time, I enjoy listening to music and playing video games with my friends. Also, when I am not lazy, I work on my basketball skills sometimes to get better.

Ihsan Imthiyaz

Why are you excited to work as a PAL Facilitator? I am excited to work as a PAL facilitator for BIO 131 because I believe this course is where everything comes together, literally. Systemic Physiology is a class where you cannot just know one thing and expect to be successful, but rather learn to integrate all the topics together to gain a better comprehension of the subject. Similarly, working as a PAL facilitator will allow me to bring students together to tackle the wonders and challenges of Systemic Physiology as a whole. It is also a great opportunity to meet new people and develop friendships!

What do you like to do for fun or in your spare time? I enjoy spending quality time with friends and family. I am a big fan of sports such as the NFL and NBA. I tend to exercise in my spare time such as weightlifting, going for a run, and/or playing sports. I also play video games on occasion such as NBA 2K, Madden, and Call of Duty.

Why are you excited to work as a PAL Facilitator? I am excited to work as a PAL facilitator because Systemic Physiology serves as the perfect foundation for other upper-division biology courses. The integration of important concepts is essential for success in this course, which is why I believe working with other students in the PAL setting can be beneficial for further comprehension.

What do you like to do for fun or in your spare time? When I'm not in class, you can find me at the climbing wall. This year I'll be a Safety Officer for the Rock Climbing Club as well as a Climbing Staff member at the WELL. If you are a member of the Pre-Physical Therapy Organization, you will find me taking meeting notes as the Secretary. I also love to be humorous or talk about sports, wildlife, or anything you are passionate about.

Why are you excited to work as a PAL Facilitator? I am excited to work as a PAL Facilitator because I want to help others succeed in Chemistry. Personally, I am very passionate about chem. I know it can be intimidating at first! I want to offer students the help they need in order to feel confident in their knowledge and maybe even develop a passion for science like me!!

What do you like to do for fun or in your spare time? In my free time I enjoy thrifting, collecting vinyl, going to concerts, cooking, hiking, and getting coffee with friends!

I have seen many students giving up because of a subject being too hard or not getting the concept but I believe they can. It just takes the right motivation, words, and knowing someone is rooting for them across the finish line. I want to be that person for them.

What do you like to do for fun or in your spare time? I love to write. Currently, I’m working on publishing my first novel. Reading is also a huge hobby to where I have become a book influencer working with several publishing companies to promote books. I love watching movies, preferably Marvel since I’m a huge fan as well as listening to music.

So, I am motivated to inspire students to be more excited to learn about challenging concepts by sharing my experience, brainstorming effective study tips, and working with peer students to build a fun and supportive learning environment.

What do you like to do for fun or in your spare time? In my spare time, I enjoy spending quality time with family, whether that’s a fun karaoke night or eating dinner together. I also enjoy helping my sister bake and cook new recipes.
