Inclusive Practices in the Faculty Search Process (AA/EOR) Training

This hybrid (asynchronous-synchronous) training is designed to inform and support the designated AA/EOR (Affirmative Action Equal Opportunity Representative) in each department faculty search committee to fulfill their role in promoting the university’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in faculty recruitment. Its content and guidance on building an inclusive faculty search process is relevant for all search committee members, especially committee chairs.

If you are interested in participating in this training, please complete the 30-minute asynchronous pre-work on Canvas. Make sure to enroll in the course by clicking the button on the top right. Once you complete the pre-work in Canvas, you will be able to register for a Zoom synchronous session for any of the following Spring 2024 dates:

  • January 30 - 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm
  • February 16 - 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
  • February 27 - 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm
  • March 15 - 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
  • March 26 - 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm
  • April 12 - 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm
  • April 23 - 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm

Search Committee Advising

Recruitment advising services for faculty search committees provide support for inclusive search practices and the recruitment of diverse candidate pools. Conducted by the Director of Faculty Diversity & Inclusion, virtual advising appointments of up to 1 hour each may be scheduled to seek consultation in the design or review of any of the following recruitment stages: Job Description; Recruitment Strategies; Candidate Screening; Interview Protocols; Virtual Campus Interviews; Onboarding New Faculty.*

*We highly encourage the committee AA/EO Representative to be included in consultations in order to monitor and support the committee's diversity and inclusion goals.
