AICP Signature Events
Thank you for joining the celebration!
Our campus came together to mark the wonderful progress that we've made toward fulfilling the Antiracism and Inclusive Campus Action Plan (AICAP). We were so happy that so many Hornets were able to join us for our Promote Sac State Becoming Showcase: Advancing the AICP.
Keynote
We were thrilled to have our very own President Luke Wood as the featured keynote speaker for the Promote Sac State Becoming Showcase!
President Wood is a renowned scholar whose research examines issues of racial equity in education, early childhood education, community colleges, and the contributors to positive outcomes for boys and men of color. Wood has delivered over 2,000 scholarly professional and conference presentations. His research has been featured by NBC, New York Times, Chronicle of Higher Education, Huffington Post, Fortune Magazine, Los Angeles Times, Miami Herald, San Francisco Chronicle, C-SPAN, and National Press Club. Dr. Wood has authored over 180 publications, including 80 peer-reviewed journal articles and 16 books. Wood is ranked by Education Week as one of the top 50 scholars and public influencers in education.
Purpose
The showcase allowed our campus to share and promote high-impact practices and demonstrate our progress and continued commitment to becoming an antiracism and inclusive campus.
We highlighted research and many services, programs, campus projects, and initiatives that have been developed, institutionalized, and sustained toward fulfilling the goals of the AICAP.
We had nearly 500 participants who came to witness how far we've come in our effort to BECOME a more inclusive and just campus where we all feel valued and that we belong.
