Saray is a proud first-generation college graduate and two-time Hornet Alumna earning her bachelor's degree in Sociology and a master's in Higher Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. Her educational journey and lived experiences fuel her passion for advocacy, mentorship and representation in higher education. Saray currently serves as coordinator for the Serna Center at Sacramento State where she leads initiatives that build community, expand opportunities for success, and empower students.

Fred is a double Sac State Alum and has extensive academic and administrative experience. He recently retired after completing 34 years in higher education. He served as the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Samuel Merritt University, overseeing the creation of an Academic Master Plan and a new campus site. As Dean of the College of Health and Human Services at Sacramento State he developed new campus facilities and programs at Folsom Hall.

Kevin’s time at Sacramento State prepared him well for a career in public service in a variety of roles. After graduation, Kevin worked as a Juvenile Probation Officer while he put himself through law school. Since earning his Juris Doctor in 1997, Kevin has served as a criminal prosecutor, an environmental law attorney with the California Energy Commission, and as a Deputy Attorney General in the California Department of Justice, where he specializes in educator misconduct matters and currently serves as the liaison with the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. An experienced litigator, Kevin also taught Trial Practice as an Adjunct Professor at UC Davis School of Law. As a former Cheerleader for Sacramento State, ’88-’89, Kevin is a Hornet for life!

Jacob Bisler is a financial advisor with Merrill Lynch; he believes in empowering individuals and fostering financial stability through comprehensive planning. As a proud third-generation Hornet, Jacob earned his bachelor’s degree in Economics. From his time at the university, the values and culture still ring true and are an integral part of his identity. Jacob is deeply engaged in the Sacramento community, dedicating much of his time to philanthropic efforts as a member of the Active 20-30 Club. Through his work, Jacob strives to better the situation of our local underprivileged youth.

Dr. Cyrenne was a faculty member in the Department of Psychology at Sacramento State. After receiving her master’s in psychology from Sacramento State in 2007, she obtained her Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of St Andrews in Scotland, in the field of Behavioral Neuroscience. Dr. Cyrenne taught at Sacramento State from Spring 2012 to Summer 2023 before retiring, though she continues as a consultant on grant projects with the Center for Teaching and Learning. While teaching, she served as the faculty representative to the Alumni Association Board of Directors for several years, a role she is proud to reprise as the representative for the Sac State Retirees' Association.

Rebecca Delmundo is a dynamic leader with over 20 years’ experience in the financial industry. She currently leads a team of financial educators and experts at SAFE Credit Union who ensure its employees, members, and the community are provided with holistic and innovative solutions to enhance and maintain their financial well-being. Prior to serving at SAFE, Rebecca led Golden 1 Credit Union’s financial education team where she was responsible for the organization’s financial education programs. Rebecca and her husband Edward live in Elk Grove with their three children and in her spare time she enjoys exercising, reading, and volunteering with local non-profit organizations.

Dr. Hamilton is a dedicated educator with over 20 years of experience as a professor of Mathematics at California State University, Sacramento. Passionate about both teaching and academic leadership, she has dedicated her career to fostering student success and advancing shared governance within the CSU system. In addition to her teaching, Dr. Hamilton has more than six years of experience with the Academic Senate of the California State University (ASCSU), including six years contributing to intersegmental committees. As Secretary of the ASCSU for the 2024-25 and 2025-26 academic years, she is committed to supporting collaboration and innovation across the CSU. Dr. Hamilton earned her B.A. in Mathematics from CSU Sacramento and her Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. When not engaged in professional activities, she enjoys travelling, baking, and spending time with her family in the Sacramento area.

David Inniss is a graduate of WestPoint, where he earned a bachelor’s in Computer Science. He holds an MBA from Sac State and a Doctorate in Education Leadership and Management from Drexel University. With a 20-year career in technology, David has a passion for helping organizations leverage human capital to boost productivity, inspire innovation and enhance culture. He currently serves as the Director of Product Management at Sacramento-based Luxer One and as a grad school professor at William Jessup University. Dr. Inniss is a father of two teenage boys and lives by the mantra “Pave the way, bridge gaps, and serve others!”

Ted is the founder of Kappel Mortgage Group, Inc (KMG), a Sacramento-based mortgage brokerage firm where he currently serves as CEO. Under his leadership, KMG has grown into a respected player in the Sacramento business community, earning accolades for its exceptional customer service, production, and community involvement. Ted is an active member of the East Sacramento community, having served as President of the East Sacramento Chamber of Commerce and sponsoring and creating numerous community events like "The Taste of East Sacramento", local schools, sports teams, and neighborhood events like Pops in the Park. He also volunteers in the community and is committed to creating a win-win environment for all. During his time at Sac State, Ted served as the President of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, chapter Cal XI, and developed a passion for leadership and community service that has defined his career.

Aranjot is an international student from Punjab, India, and the first international student to serve as the ASI President at Sac State. She is a junior majoring in Business Administration with concentrations in Entrepreneurship and International Business. Aran is also an MMA fighter and the student founder of Combat U at Sac State. As ASI President, she is focused on four main pillars: campus safety, financial affordability, DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion), and innovation.

As principal and COO at PASE, a growing international structural engineering firm, Matt focuses on developing managers and leaders, expanding customer relationship networks, and optimizing operations for scalable growth. A lifelong learner passionate about business and human psychology, Matt has furthered his education by earning a Master’s in Structural Engineering from San Jose State University and an MBA from Cal State East Bay, complementing his undergraduate studies at Sacramento State. Following his MBA studies, Matt gained experience in venture capital which offered the opportunity to serve startups and young leaders by leveraging his experience in operations and business development.

Ron is the founder/managing director of Trifecta Management Group (TMG), a concept development, management, marketing, and consulting firm, specializing in the entertainment/restaurant industry. Prior to TMG, he was CEO/President of GameWorks (a Universal Studios/DreamWorks/Sega entertainment joint venture), SVP/CFO of Universal Studios Hollywood (USH) and Corporate Director of Planning for MCA Inc./Universal Studios. Ron’s board experience includes both non-profit and for-profit organizations, including Mandarins of Sacramento, Inc., 2020 USA Olympic Track & Field Trials (venue), USH Discover a Star and CentroMart Inc. While at Sac State, Ron was the President of the inaugural Asian Student Union and was awarded the Senior Achievement Award. He has his MBA (with honors) from University of Southern California.

Sacramento State was the launching pad for Doug’s public service career. The Sacramento Semester internship, late-night study groups in Sutter Hall, and his favorite professor who encouraged him to speak up were instrumental in his experiences. Before serving as Real Estate Commissioner, he was Chief Deputy Director of the Department of Housing and Community Development and Executive Officer of the California Architects Board. Doug and his wife Lisa (also a Hornet) live in Sacramento and are active in several local organizations.

Jeffrey is CEO of SmartStart AI and Principal Consultant at Mrizek Global, LLC. Previously, he served as Dean of Workforce and Economic Development at the California Community College Chancellor's Office, overseeing $200+ million in federal and statewide programs. A recipient of Sacramento State's Outstanding Dissertation Award, Jeffrey has taught across the Los Rios and Coastline Community College Districts for 19 years and currently serves as Past President of the American Society for Public Administration's Sacramento Chapter.

Austyn is a mission-driven leader working at the intersection of equity, real estate, and leadership development. As Director of Leadership Development Programs at the California Coalition for Rural Housing (CCRH), she leads a statewide internship program focused on preparing emerging leaders to advance inclusive, community-rooted housing solutions. She also co-founded YBUILD, a nonprofit creating pathways for underrepresented professionals in land use and development. Beyond her work in housing, Austyn is a strategic partner, philanthropist, and growth advisor for organizations and individuals committed to systemic change.

Michael is an established leader that believes higher education can transform the lives of individuals, communities, and society. Michael leads the university’s advancement efforts; including alumni relations, development, and operations. Michael has more than 19 years of experience in higher education advancement at large public and small private institutions. Prior to Sacramento State, he served as Associate Vice President for Portland Development and Alumni Engagement at the University of Oregon and as Vice President for Advancement at George Fox University. Michael’s career has also included progressive roles in advancement at the University of Arizona, UC Irvine and Oregon State University. He is an active volunteer with CASE and completed his term as Chair of CASE District VIII in June 2022 and has served on the faculty for Major Gift Strategies, Minority Advancement Institute, and Newcomers to Advancement.

Senior Director of State Affairs, American Chemistry Council

In his role with the American Chemistry Council (ACC), the major trade association representing the U.S. chemical and plastics industry, Tim is responsible for developing and implementing ACC’s lobbying and government affairs efforts in 13 western states. In addition to his Sacramento State degree, he graduated from the UC Davis specialized public relations program. During his time as a student, Tim was on the Men’s Golf team and has remained active with the athletics program.

Kristen currently serves as Chief of Staff for Sac State President Luke Wood. A higher education leader with more than 25 years of experience as both a faculty member and administrator, she previously served as Sac State’s director of debate and a faculty member in the Communication Studies Department. Kristen came to Sac State to pursue a master’s degree in 2002 and has been a member of the Hornet Family ever since.

Karen has over four decades of experience in higher education, legislative matters and state budgeting
including 25 years leading the California State University (CSU) Advocacy and State Relations office. She
came to Sacramento as a Senate Fellow after completing her Urban and Regional Planning degree at the
University of Southern California (USC). She established her own consulting firm in 2016 and has since
worked for all segments of public and private higher education as well as Head Start, the College Futures
Foundation, and the Representatives of California Rural Counties (RCRC).
