Rabbil Green
Rabbil Green '06 (Communication Studies)
President
As the Manager of Career Development & Learning at SMUD, Rabbil Green leads a team supporting employee development across the enterprise and provides strategic oversight of cross-functional partnerships that enhance learning initiatives and workforce development efforts. He currently serves as Chair of the Western Energy Institute’s Leadership + Training Executive Planning Committee, influencing program planning to align with leadership objectives. Rabbil previously taught instructional technology courses part-time at Sac State’s College of Continuing Education and supported statewide training initiatives at CalPERS. He earned his bachelor's degree in communication studies from Sacramento State in 2006 and his MBA from the University of Arizona in 2022; he is also a proud NELP Senior Fellow (Class X).
Dr. Nkiruka Catherine Ohaegbu
Dr. Nkiruka Catherine Ohaegbu, EMBA '14
President-Elect & VP of Nominating
Dr. Ohaegbu established Adaptive Strategies Consulting, providing expertise in public policy, advocacy, and strategic planning. She also serves as a commissioner on the City of Sacramento’s Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy Commission. Previously, she worked in public affairs, government relations, and enterprise project governance roles at PG&E. Prior to that, she served as a Business Loan Specialist at the US Small Business Administration, and was Assistant Director of Planning and Policy at Business, Consumer Services, and Housing Agency. She also served in several positions in the Office of Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. including special assistant to the Governor and First Lady. Nkiruka also sits on the boards of the YMCA of Superior California, PBS KVIE, and the leadership council for We Prosper Together (CA Jobs First). Nkiruka holds a bachelor’s degree from Wayne State University, an MBA from California State University, Sacramento, and a Doctorate in Business Administration from Georgia State University.
Catherine Borg
Catherine Borg '92 (Communication Studies)
VP of Networks and Chapters Engagement
Catherine is a lobbyist for Southern California Edison and has extensive experience in legislative affairs and political action while representing business owners of manufactured housing communities, long-term care and trucking interests at the state capitol. She started her career in legislative affairs right out of Sacramento State through a student connection made in a Communication Studies night class. In addition, Catherine serves as a Board Member for the Institute of Governmental Advocates and the CalAsian Chamber of Commerce. Both her father and son are alumni, making three generations of Hornets.
Ryan Chan
Ryan Chan ’16, MBA '20 (Business Administration)
VP of Finance
Ryan is a Vice President and Credit Portfolio Manager at Five Star Bank, where he oversees specialized credit portfolios and supports strategic lending initiatives. He specializes in financial analysis, risk management, and portfolio optimization by partnering across teams to deliver sound solutions that drive long-term growth. A proud double alumnus of Sacramento State, Ryan earned both his undergraduate degree in Entrepreneurial Studies and his graduate degree from the university. Since 2020, he has been actively involved with the Sacramento State Alumni Association, contributing to the organization through board and committee service to strengthen alumni engagement and support future Hornet success. Ryan is passionate about community impact, professional development, and remains actively engaged in regional initiatives supporting emerging leaders and the Sacramento business community.
Saori Choulos
Saori Choulos ’93, MBA ’12 (Business Administration)

Saori current works as the Executive Leadership Talent Partner for GEICO. She is passionate about helping people realize their full potential and currently serves as a talent partner at GEICO for executive-level leadership & organizational development. She brings over 20 years of leadership and management experience in the fields of banking, insurance, and nonprofits. Saori earned her bachelor’s and master’s degree in business administration from Sacramento State and is a Senior Fellow of the American Leadership Forum, Class XX and the Nehemiah Emerging Leaders Program, Class III. She resides in the Washington D.C. area and still calls Northern California home.
Lance Hastings
Lance Hastings '87, EMBA '22 (Economics)
Immediate Past President, Foundation Board Liaison
Lance serves as President/CEO of the California Manufacturers & Technology Association (CMTA), having assumed the role in November 2018. In that capacity, he leads a prominent business-oriented trade association with a legacy of success and engagement. Prior to joining CMTA, he served as Vice President of National Affairs for MillerCoors. During his 15 years with the brewing industry, Hastings served in state, regional, national, and international capacities. His international experience was as Head of Regulatory & Tax Affairs for SABMiller located in London, England. Before his extensive career as a manufacturing executive, Hastings was the Vice President of Government Relations at the California Grocers Association and Senior Director for State Affairs at the Grocery Manufacturers of America. Hastings also served as legislative staff in the California State Legislature for almost a decade, concluding as a Chief Consultant in 1997. He was also recently elected to the Gold Country Region Red Cross Board of Directors.
David Murillo
David Murillo '99 (Business Administration)
VP of Membership Engagement
David is an experienced association management executive specializing in governance, membership, strategic planning, and government affairs. He serves as President and CEO of Compass Management Solutions, a national nonprofit consulting and association management firm based in Sacramento. His leadership experience includes serving as Chair of the Associations West Board of Directors (formerly CalSAE) and being named Associations West Association Executive of the Year in 2018. He is also a 2024–2026 Diversity Executive Leadership Program (DELP) Scholar with the American Society of Association Executives. David has served on the boards of the Sacramento Gay Men’s Chorus, The Council for Giving, and the California Capital Region of Sigma Chi. While earning his undergraduate degree at Sacramento State, David served on the University Union Board of Directors, was active in the Interfraternity Council, and served as president of the Sigma Chi Fraternity chapter on campus.
Kristy Prince
Kristy Prince '06 (Communication Studies)

Kristy is the Senior Technical Program Manager for G-P. She has more than 15 years of experience in program management in product and technology organizations. She currently supports the Information Technology group at G-P, a global SaaS company providing services to help businesses hire employees around the world. Kristy is Past-Chair of the Metro Chamber’s Leadership Sacramento Alumni Association where she led programming for the 900+ alumni network. She also volunteers for Single Mom Strong, coaching women re-entering the workforce.
Mariana Sabeniano
Mariana Sabeniano '06 (Government)
VP of Administration & CSU Alumni Council Representative
Mariana serves as the Chief of Staff for California State Senator Monique Limon. A first-generation college graduate, Mariana has eighteen years of experience in government and public service. She is a Trustee and currently serves as the Board President of the Sacramento County Board of Education and as Chief of Staff to Senator Monique Limon. She is actively involved with organizations throughout Sacramento and statewide. Mariana has participated in several leadership programs, such as Leadership Sacramento 2020 and the Nehemiah Emerging Leaders Program (NELP), Class X. In 2015, she earned her Master of Science in Law from McGeorge School of Law. Mariana has volunteered extensively with the Hornets Policy and Politics Alumni (HPPA) Chapter, serving as Past President, and has been a lifetime member of the Alumni Association, since 2015.
