Sac State Career Network

The Sacramento State Alumni Association offers an online Career Network for alumni and students to get advice and insights from fellow alumni who are willing to share their knowledge and experience. Please use the links in the navigation to find your topic of interest or the button below to go directly to the platform.

Library of online videos

The Career Network has a library of long-form educational content. Video topics from “How To Optimize your LinkedIn Profile” all the way to “How to Get a Job at Google

Students can filter the videos by their field of study or the type of industry and job they are looking for.

The videos uploaded are an invaluable tool that students can access long after they’ve graduated.

Job and Internship postings

The Career Network provides a list of popular companies to work for.

You can filter careers by:

  • Industry
  • Location
  • and size

It will give you insight and a bird's-eye view into the company, employee reviews, business outlooks, and community engagement.

It also provides information on how to get hired at the company, such as details on the hiring process and interview questions.

Similarly, you can also use the Career Network to discover internships. Our network provides information on application deadlines, where to apply, and the duration of the internship.

We also provide internship contacts to email or reach out to.

The Career Network provides a list of guides, insights, and professional development to help you in your career including a list of blogs from a long list of industry professionals that can range from a variety of topics, such as:

Creating a Profile

Setting up your Career Network profile is easy! Choose between three options:

  • Use your SacLink profile (for current students)
  • Use your LinkedIn profile (for students or alumni)
  • Use your personal email address (for students or alumni)

Do you want to give back to your Sac State community and offer mentorship?

The Sacramento State Career Network is always looking for members of the Hornet Alumni Family who want to serve as a resource and inspiration to the current generation of Sacramento State students.

The Career Network offers alumni the ability to connect with students and recently graduated alumni looking for advice and seeking insight.

Users can reach out to you based on their desired career path and request advice on a large number of topics such as advice about transitioning from school to work or preparing for interviews.

Alumni are also given the opportunity to seek advice from mentors. So whether you are looking for a career change or have only recently become an alumni, the Career Network can be a helpful tool long after you’ve graduated. Or, if you're already established in your career and looking to give back, this is the place for you to help your fellow Hornets.

Connect with alumni:

  • Click on 'Mentors' in the top navigation to explore alumni that are willing to share advice and experience;
  • Filter your search by advice topics, specific employers, industry, job function, and more;
  • Click on an alums name to view their profile and request a conversation/consultation;
  • No personal contact information is share as the system will facilitate the call at the agreed upon time;
  • Be sure to thank those you connect with for volunteering their time!

  • Search through hundreds of videos using keywords to filter the results;
  • Tag those you are interested in to appear in your 'My Library' tab;
  • Watch at your leisure to learn about a host of topics from perfecting your LinkedIn profile to industry specific job search insight.

  • Through partnership with Vault, you have access to hundreds of job postings from around the country and beyond;
  • Search through hundreds of postings using keywords to filter the results;
  • Keywords can be employer names, job functions, locations, and more.
