Sacramento State's Day of Service
Learn More About These Exciting Events
Join the Community Engagement Center for the biggest volunteer day of the year! On Saturday, March 12th the Sacramento State Day of Service brings together hundreds of students, faculty, staff, alumni, and their families working in partnership with community partners to perform service throughout Sacramento. Volunteers will be placed at multiple sites in the Sacramento area on the same day, for the greatest impact on the community.
This event builds upon the great service performed throughout the year by the Sacramento State community and further supports the Anchor University initiative into action.
Join our inaugural group of 400 volunteers for this exciting event!
Volunteers will participate in the activities below at various sites throughout Sacramento.

Harvest Fruit With Soil Born Farms
Volunteer at Soil Born Farms to harvest citrus fruits from trees in Sacramento neighborhoods and donate them to a local food pantry. Volunteers will leave Soil Born Farms by carpool to surrounding neighborhoods, harvest fruit at various sites, and return to the farm where the fruit will be sorted.

Help Clean the Boys & Girls Club
The Boys & Girls Club, Raley Teen Center in downtown Sacramento, needs your help! Join us to clean and maintain this vibrant space for Sacramento teens to learn and grow. Volunteers may: clean the Teen Room, organize supply closets and classrooms, and help tidy the raised garden beds.

Arbor Day At Sac State
Sacramento State will celebrate Arbor Day by planting 150 trees on campus to maintain our beautiful tree canopy. Learn how trees help improve our community and how to plant and care for them!

Come write an encouraging letter or card of appreciation for the amazing doctors and staff of Shriners Hospital for Children. We will be tabling for an entire week to provide card-making materials for you to decorate cards that will be delivered to the doctors and staff of Shriners Hospital for Children. Help us deliver 300 cards!
