Sacramento State Downtown Welcome fall 202

Welcome Back to Sacramento State Downtown

Sacramento State is excited to welcome students, staff, and faculty back for the new academic year. Preparing for a safe return to campus, including Sacramento State Downtown, has been a dedicated effort by staff and faculty across the University.

Working as a team, the University continues to transform the lives of students, their families, and the entire Sacramento Region. Washington Monthly recently published its rankings, and Sacramento State is No. 10 among Master’s Universities “based on contribution to the public good in three broad categories: social mobility, research, and promoting public service.” Through its academic offerings and programs located onsite, Sacramento State Downtown is pleased to be a key part of how the University promotes research and public service.

In late August, President Robert Nelsen stressed resiliency and safety in the annual President’s Fall Address. He thanked groundskeepers and police who “showed up every day” to care for the campus, Nursing students who administered vaccines, technology staff who handed out laptops to needy students, faculty and staff members who “never gave up, who refused to let the pandemic beat them,” and everyone who endured hardships to ensure the University’s educational mission continued.

Across the University, a number of campus units continue to produce great resources for students, staff, and faculty to keep in mind as many continue to modify their communication methods due to the pandemic. With many courses offered virtually and staff working remotely, these suggested security tips are important to ensure security and privacy within Zoom sessions.

The University provides updates about COVID-19 protocols on the web page entitled Return to Campus & COVID-19 Information.
