Sac State Campus Tours
Join us for a fun and informative tour at Sacramento State
By touring our beautiful campus, prospective students are given the opportunity to learn more about life at Sac State, experiencing firsthand everything our truly amazing campus has to offer. Please carefully review your options and register for the tour that best represents you and your needs. Signing up for Campus Tours and Housing Tours are separate procedures. To prevent any scheduling conflicts, kindly make sure that you register for both tours separately.

Prospective Student Tours (PSTs)
Prospective student tours are for individuals and/or families interested in touring the campus. The tour will start with a 15 minutes admissions presentation and then will be followed by a 1 hour walking tour. The total tour time is approximately 1.5 hours. All minors are expected to be accompanied by an adult. We are so excited to show you what it's like to be a part of the Hornet Family!
May 19 - August 15
Monday - Friday: 10:00am - 11:30am
*Blackout Dates: May 26, June 19, June 24, July 4, and July 11
IMPORTANT:
- During the summer we do not offer tours after 12:00pm or in weather that is more than 100 degrees to protect our student ambassadors and guests from heat exhaustion. If at the time your tour is booked the temperature reaches over 100 degrees, we will offer an admissions presentation in it's place.
- If a time appears open but you are unable to register, it is because the number of guests you are trying to register exceeds the maximum for a particular time frame. If this happens, you must choose a different tour time.
- If you are a minor registering for a tour, you must be accompanied by an adult.
- Please do not register for this tour if you are a school/organization bringing more than 10 students.
Location & Parking
Campus Tours begin and end at The Welcome Center. Please reference our interactive Campus Map for more information. Please plan to arrive 20-30 minutes before your scheduled tour time. We recommend parking in Parking Structure V (5), next to The Welcome Center.
Upon arrival to campus, follow these steps to purchase a daily parking permit (Two-Hour Parking $4 or Daily Parking $8):
- Park on the 3rd or 4th floor of Parking Structure V (5)
- Take note of your license plate number
- Follow the instructions on the parking machine near the elevator. A receipt will be distributed to you if payment was successful.
- See the front desk of the Welcome Center for tour check-in.

Group Tours (up to 60) - Summer 2025
Join us for a campus tour, suitable for groups, schools, and outside organizations of up to 60 guests (including students and chaperones). If you want to bring more than 60 students, we recommend you book two timeslots on the same day. The walking campus tour is conducted outdoors and typically lasts an hour. Please arrive 30 minutes early to your tour to allow time for your group to check in and use the restroom before the tour time is scheduled to start.
- During the summer we do not offer tours after 12:00pm or in weather that is more than 100 degrees to protect our student ambassadors and guests from heat exhaustion. - Registration is to be made by a representative/lead chaperone on behalf of the group that will be present on the day of the campus visit.
- Please note that tours may be subject to cancellation due to extreme weather conditions, very poor air quality, or other unsafe/potentially harmful conditions. To ensure you are comfortable, please dress appropriately for the weather.
- At this time, we are unable to provide tours for grades 5 and below. Please refer to our Sac State Fun Facts Presentation section for an alternative accommodation.

Register for a Group Campus Tour
Friday: Due to extemely limited staff, we encourage you to book Monday - Thursday. If you group can only come on a Friday, we may accept request on a case by case basis. You will need to email tours@csus.edu the following information about your group to see if we are able to host a tour: name of your school/organization, grade level of students, number of students, number of chaperones, and the dates and time you are interested in.

Sac State Fun Facts Presentation – Grades 5 and below
Join us for a Sac State Fun Facts Presentation! Students will be quizzed about interesting information and tidbits of Sac State that is appropriate for elementary school students. Students can win prizes by guessing the correct answers to the fun fact slides. Our campus tours are geared toward college-ready students. As such, we cannot offer tours for grades 5th and below at this time. Thank you for your understanding!

On-Campus Housing Tours - Spring 2025
During your on-campus housing tour, you will learn about student life when living on campus, the amenities offered in our residence halls, student resources, and so much more! In its entirety, the on-campus housing tour will last approximately 30 minutes.
Spring 2025 North Village On-Campus Housing Tours will begin on February 3, 2025 and will be held on the following days & times (tour times are subject to change when necessary):
Monday:
- 10:00 - 10:30am
- 1:00 - 1:30pm
- 10:00 - 10:30am
Friday:
- 10:00 - 10:30am
- 1:00 - 1:30pm
Saturday:
- 11:00 - 11:30am
- 12:00 - 12:30pm
LOCATION: North Village On-Campus Housing Tours begin at the University Housing Services Office in Riverview Hall. Guests will meet tour guides at the Herky mascot sign located outside the office’s doors. Please reference our interactive Campus Map for more information.
Large Group Housing Tours
To request a large group housing tour, please email housing@csus.edu directly with your request. Please include contact information and estimated number of attendees with your request.
PARKING

Experience The WELL
The WELL offers guided tours to large groups, small groups, and individuals. Tours may be provided on a walk-in basis, however, we recommend prescheduling your tour to avoid a long waiting period. Tours typically last between 5 - 15 minutes. Individuals on a tour must stay with the group the entire time, and are not authorized to use equipment or take photos inside the facility.
When registering, please always indicate the size and demographic (children, teenagers, college students, or adults) of your group.
Small Tours
A small tour is classified as anywhere between 1 - 10 individuals. Small tours provide a more intimate experience and allow patrons to ask details questions. Small tours are available to prospective students, alumni, affiliates, current students, and campus visitors. We request small tours to be scheduled at least 48 hours in advance.
Large Tours
The WELL provides large tours to school groups, clubs, organizations, and campus visitors. A large tour is classified as 11 or more individuals. Each tour guide can accommodate 25 individuals per tour. If your group has more than 25 people we will separate them into groups. We request large tours to be scheduled at least one week in advance.
Specialized Tours
Groups interested in learning about the WELL's LEED certification can schedule a specialized tour. The WELL is a LEED Green Building project. LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design and is governed by the U.S. Green Building Council. We request specialized tours to be scheduled at least one week in advance.
