Profile

 

Dr. Clovis Karam has a Ph.D in Scholastic Philosophy & Religions from the Catholic University of Lyon-France (1982), and another Ph.D in Philosophy from the University of Lyon III France (1985). Dr. Karam has more than 35 years of teaching, research, and an extensive conferencing experience in the field of Humanities in different languages and international universities . Currently Dr. Karam is a part time professor at California State University in Sacramento (CSUS), professor of  World Mythology & Religions, Anthropology, Education, in the Humanities and Religious Department, and professor of Arabic Language & Culture in the  World Languages and Literatures Department. Also professor Kram is currently teaching Religious Studies & Theology at Santa Clara University.

According to the Bulletin of the Catholic University of Lyon ( 1982), Dr. Karam is one of the few scholars that have demonstrated extensive knowledge and research in the fields of Comparative Middle Eastern Cultures, Mythologies, Semitic languages, Philosophies and Religions. Dr. C. Karam is the Senior Research Director of  the Phoenician Aramaic Research Center (parcrc.org) and a long time contributor to ETAPE (etapegoabroad.org), a leading European tutoring exchange agency based in Nice-France. He also pioneered with GETT program, “Global Education Thru Technology”, sharing simultaneously via  video conferences, scheduled and accredited courses on “Cultural Diversity”  with university students from around the globe: El Camino College in California, Monterrey University of Mexico, Poland, and Notre Dame University of Lebanon.

Dr. Karam is also a honorary member of (WLCU) the World Lebanese Cultural Union,  and  he recently joined the Knights of Christopher Columbus and  the volunteering group of Saint Vincent De Paul, a community charitable organization based in Elk Grove California. Also Dr. Karam is a member of the Interfaith Council of Greater sacramento, bridging communities together.
