Social Sciences & Interdisciplinary Studies

Together, our dedicated faculty, staff, and students are challenging the status quo, affecting change, and advancing public service engagement and leadership — driving transformative solutions to society's most vexing problems.

Located in the capital city of the fifth-largest economy in the world, Sacramento State’s College of Social Sciences and Interdisciplinary Studies (SSIS) supports the diversity and vibrancy of the Sacramento region. Student success is steeped in cultural awareness, scientific thinking and analysis, and ethical decision-making.

Examining society through the study of economics, environmental studies, public policy, sociology, women’s studies, and many other programs, SSIS influences discovery, integration, and implementation of social sciences across the region, with students, often working closely with policymakers to enact real-world change.

Contact Rebekah Rabinoff, Director of Development, at (916) 278-6989 if you have questions or would like to discover additional ways to get involved.
