Homework Assignments
Mastering Chemistry Assignments: The majority of homework assignments will be submitted via the Mastering Chemistry web site. Most of the assigned problems will be from the end-of-chapter questions from your textbook, so you do not have to be logged on to do most of the homework problems (you can do them by hand then log on and submit your answers). Assignments must be completed by 11:59 PM on the due date. All questions and tutorials will remain accessible for study purposes for the remainder of the semester, but answers will not count for credit after the due date. Problems marked with an asterisk (*) will be the same type of problem as the corresponding end-of-chapter questions, but have different numerical values.
Reading Assignments: It is important that you read the assigned material BEFORE that material is covered in lecture. My lectures are designed with the assumption that you have read the assigned material and are at least partially familiar with the concepts covered in the reading. You do NOT need to fully understand the reading. It is a good idea to read the assignments again after they are covered in lecture to help cement the concepts in your mind.
Miscellaneous Assignments : Throughout the semester, there will be addition work assigned which will not be from the book or from Mastering Chemistry. If the assignment is a worksheet, you can click on it (under "What is Assigned") to download the worksheet or on the link to the left (the date assigned will be in the link title). Pleas DO NOT turn in your answer on the worksheets; complete the assignments on separate pieces of paper. Please put your name on the assignments, write everything legibly, and staple all sheets of paper together (You don NOT need to include the assignment pages that you downloaded).
