Requirement, Deadlines and Costs

Requirements

Applicants must submit the international application online at Cal State Apply

A non-refundable application fee of $70 USD will need to be paid before submitting the application online using a credit/debit card or PayPal account only.

  • English proficiency exam​
  • Countries where TOEFL or IELTS not required
  • ​TOEFL: 64 iBT (ETS code: 004671)
  • DuoLingo: 95
  • Sacramento State ELI: Level 7
    PTE Academic: 50​
    GTEC: 1125​
  • ELS Language Center: Level 112​
  • FLS Language School: Level 16​
  • TLC: Level 9​
  • UCLA Extension: Level 6​

  • High School/ Diploma equivalent
  • Minimum 3.0 out of 4.0 scale or average 80% marks​

  • Financial Affidavit : Complete this form and send once the admission has been accepted. ​
  • Financial statement: Bank summary or statement (no older than 6 months)​

Copy of both sides of passport (Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your period of stay in the United States (unless exempt by country-specific agreements)​

Transferring from U.S. institution

There are six key documents/items required​

1) Post-secondary Transcripts (College or University) Submit unofficial transcripts to intldocs@csus.edu and 
incomingtranscripts@csus.edu
For processing application:​To receive transfer credit: 
2) High School Transcript (If transferring less than 60 units)​ Submit unofficial transcripts to intldocs@csus.edu  
3) Passport Copy of both sides of passport (Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your period of stay in the United States (unless exempt by country-specific agreements)  
4) Financial affidavit and Financial statement  Financial Affidavit : Complete this form and send once the admission has been accepted. ​Financial statement: Bank summary or statement (no older than 6 months)
