Belonging Maps
About the Belonging Maps
The Belonging Maps is a collaborative project between Sacramento State’s Inclusive Excellence and the Department of Geography. This innovative, multimedia resource helps students, faculty, staff, and prospective Hornets discover places and programs that foster connection, support, and a sense of community. Each community map includes two complementary features: the Campus Belonging Map, which highlights campus spaces, organizations, and services designed to help people thrive at Sac State; and the Regional Community Belonging Map, which introduces users to local businesses, cultural centers, and community organizations that reflect the vibrancy of the Sacramento region. Together, these maps strengthen pathways between the university and the community, supporting student engagement, well-being, and success.
