BSI Governing Board
The Black-Serving Institution (BSI) Governing Board, established under California Senate Bill 1348, provides statewide leadership and oversight for the Black-Serving Institution designation and related investments. Chaired by Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis, the Board brings together legislative appointees and designees from the University of California, the California State University, the California Community Colleges, the Association of Independent California Colleges and Universities, and the California Legislative Black Caucus to align policy, practice, and resources that advance Black student access, success, and well-being across California’s colleges and universities.
