About the Disabled Faculty and Staff ERG
The Disabled Faculty and Staff ERG (Employee Resource Group) is dedicated to fostering mentorship and career support for disabled employees, both apparent and non-apparent, at Sac State. It serves as a resource for individuals who are new to the university, new to their disabilities, or seeking to connect with other disabled faculty and staff for both personal and professional development. The group advocates for inclusivity and accessibility as essential components of the campus culture, affirming the right to equal access and opportunities in the workplace and in all campus-sponsored activities and events.
The ERG strives to empower disabled faculty and staff by providing a shared space for voicing concerns, offering recommendations, contributing to the creation of a more inclusive campus environment, and supporting research associated with disability studies and disability justice. It works to ensure that the disability identity is respected as valid and significant as all other identities on campus, while also fostering the principles of disability justice.
