What's Hornet Nest Fest?

Hornet Nest Fest is the official kick-off to the Fall semester. Expect to see free food, free giveaways and swag, campus exhibitors, music and dancing, fun, and games.

Hornet Nest Fest is taking place in the Acorn Amphitheater (Main Quad) on campus.

How do I RSVP or claim food tickets?

Students can RSVP through the link below (must log in with Sac State credentials). Students will have access to claim up to 4 tickets for access into the event and food tents.

Students who RSVP for the event will be sent information on complimentary parking.

Parking Structure 5 has accessible parking options. Below is a link to all accessible parking options on campus, but please note any ADA spots in lots not designated for Hornet Nest Fest guests do require a Sac State parking permit.

Can I bring guests who aren't current students?

Yes. Only students can RSVP and claim up to four tickets for Hornet Nest Fest, but they are welcome to give their three extra tickets to external guests, family, or friends.

Zero Waste Event

What is a Zero Waste Event?

"Zero Waste” means at least 90% of waste generated at an event is diverted from the landfill. Keeping campus waste out of local landfills is a critical component of sustainable operations at Sac State and for reducing global greenhouse gas emissions. Sac State has established a 2030 zero-waste goal.

• Following Sac State's goal of zero waste by 2030, we are striving to make Hornet Nest Fest a zero waste event with the goal of 90%+ waste diversion.
• Help us achieve this goal by following instructions and signs on how to properly dispose of your waste when at the event.
