About APIDA College Day
The Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) College Day is an equity access pathway and pipeline in the region that provides educational opportunities to APIDA students and their families to realize their dreams. One of the strategies to ensure APIDA students are college-ready is early exposure to the campus experience, similarly for the University to be student-ready is learning about the diverse and unique educational needs facing APIDA students. To this end, APIDA College Day will amplify exposure, cultivate interest, and provide tools, resources, and guidance of college access and career preparation for K-12 and transfer-ready community college Asian Pacific Islander Desi American students and their families.
Goals
- Provide post-secondary college and career pathways for APIDA students and their families through a nexus of activities, workshops and engagement opportunities.
- Mobilize the university and community resources in efforts to increase early awareness of college and career to APIDA students and their families.
