Sacramento State Voting Locations

DropBox at The WELL
While each county in California conducts its own elections, we are excited that Sacramento County voters who choose not to mail their ballot in, can use a Ballot Drop Box that will be located on the first floor of The WELL. The dropbox will be available during normal business hours from October 6th through Election Day.

Vote Center at Modoc Hall
Sacramento State will also again host a Vote Center on campus, at Modoc Hall. The Vote Center, operated by the County of Sacramento’s Department of Voter Registration and Elections, replaces the traditional Election Day-only polling places. It will be open for the three days prior to the election and on Election Day. Any registered voter in Sacramento County can vote there in person or drop off their completed ballot. Physical distancing and safety precautions will be in place at the Vote Center.

The Vote Center’s schedule is:

  • November 5th: 4-day Vote Centers open

Did you know?

In 2016, more than 35 million Americans with disabilities were eligible to vote, but only 15 million exercised their right?

Voting is an important right in our democracy that can affect and implement change, and the disability vote matters! With, “1 in 4 people between the ages of 18-64 having a disability, and higher rates for those over 65,” according to the Center for Disease Control (CDC).

“If people with disabilities voted as the same rate as people without disabilities, there would be roughly 2.35 million more voters,” based on a report from RUTGERS School of Management and Labor.

Voting allows you the opportunity to voice your concerns, beliefs and how you want to be represented! It is critical to get involved, become aware of the issues and vote.

There are many accessible voting options for individuals with disabilities, so we encourage Californians with disabilities to make sure your voice is heard. Register to vote, become informed about the issues, encourage your friends and family to register and vote, know your rights as a voter, and vote.

The simple act of voting is the cornerstone of our democracy. There is an important election on November 3, 2020, as we will choose our nation’s president, congressional representatives, state legislators, local officeholders, and decide on a number of state propositions.

Due to the pandemic, all registered voters in California will be sent their ballot and have the opportunity to vote by mail. It is imperative that election officials have one’s current mailing address well in advance of the election. In order to vote one must be registered to vote by midnight on October 19th.

To register to vote in California you must be:

  • A United States citizen and a resident of California
  • 18 years old or older on Election Day (November 3, 2020),
  • Not currently in state or federal prison or on parole for the conviction of a felony, and
  • Not currently found mentally incompetent to vote by a court
