Student Services
Mission
The mission of the Sacramento State Undocumented Student Resource Center is to provide assistance, resources, and knowledge to support members of the Hornet community. We strive to make the dream of a college degree a reality. Through comprehensive advocacy, emergency support, and community-centered programming, we create spaces where immigrant joy and resilience flourish.
Goals
- Grow the United Scholars Volunteer Program, connecting students to service opportunities that build valuable career skills, hands-on experience, and earn additional financial aid.
- Expand student leadership and career pathways post-graduation through mentorship, workshops, and the Monarch Scholars Program.
- Deepen partnerships with local organizations and small businesses to widen the resources, scholarships, and opportunities available to students.

In honor of “I Stand with Immigrants Day of Action,” the Dreamer Resource Center and Capital Storytelling invite the campus to the Annual Immigrant Stories event. This powerful evening celebrates National Immigrants Day by highlighting the voices and experiences of immigrants, featuring Sac State community members sharing their personal stories live on stage.

The Keeping the Dream Alive (KDA) Conference is a hybrid national gathering of educators, practitioners, and professionals dedicated to supporting the success of undocumented and mixed-status students, providing opportunities to share knowledge, explore innovative practices, and connect with colleagues across the country.

Mental Health & Well-Being
Dream Connections
Every Wednesday from 12 - 1:30 p.m.
A well-being support group open to all that provides a space for connection on culture, heritage, and life as an undocumented student, a student with a mixed-status family, and all students at Sac State.
Free lunch is provided at every session
Rooted in Resistance Group Counseling
A supportive space to come together, share feelings if you choose, and breathe.

Fellowships & Scholarships
United Scholars Fellowship
The fellowship provides students who applied for the CA Dream Act & are Cal-Grant B eligible with on-campus fellowships that advance their academic and professional growth. The California Student Aid Commission (CSAC) will award up to $4,500 per academic year (up to $2,250 per semester). Students must also meet Satisfactory Academic Progress and complete any necessary verification for their Cal Grant award.
All students, including undocumented students without a SSN are eligible to apply! For any questions, reach out to Rodolfo Chavez, Assistant Program Coordinator of the DRC at rodolfojchavez@csus.edu.
Dream Leader Fellowship
The Dream Leaders Fellowship is a yearlong program (fall and spring) that promotes and fosters personal, academic, and professional development among students looking to support and learn more about the culture, heritage, and life of our immigrant and undocumented students and community members, and students with mixed-status families at Sacramento State. Each semester, fellows will participate in a hands-on/experiential learning project of their choice, focused on one of five areas related to uplifting immigrant communities:
- civic engagement and advocacy
- college access and educational equity
- diversity, intersectionality, and inclusion
- arts and culture
- basic needs
Fellows also have the opportunity to serve as peer mentors for students served by the Undocumented Student Resource Center.
Compensation: Must complete 150 hours per semester to receive a payment of $2,250 each semester, totaling $4,500 for the academic year. Undocumented students without a SSN are eligible to apply!

Outreach Fellowship
Incoming first-year students and transfer students receive ongoing support through the admissions process as early as the start of their senior year and transferring semester through the Undocumented Student Resource Center’s Outreach Fellows. DRC fellows assist and follows up with students to ensure that they are taking the right steps towards college readiness through support with the following processes:
- Cal State Apply
- CA Dream Act Application/FAFSA
- University documents
Along with any other questions or concerns students may have along the way.
- Apply to be an Outreach Fellow through College Corps & request to be placed at the DRC. All students, including undocumented students without a SSN are eligible to apply!
