Student Affairs IT Consultation Guidelines
SAIT Consultation Required
We encourage you to consult with SA-IT for these purchases. Although they don’t all require ICT’s, these items are of high value and we want to ensure we are able to configure them to campus/department standards and ensure compatibility with existing equipment.
ICT Required Items
- Student Desktops
- Laptops
- Micro desktop for Digital Signage/Conference Rooms
- iPad for EAB Kiosk
Non ICT Required Items
- TV’s for Digital Signage Conference Room
- Monitors
Note: Full Set Up (Monitor x2, Docking Station, Laptop and wireless keyboard and mouse) for Baseline General funded positions may be covered by the campus refresh. Check with SA-IT before purchasing equipment for those positions.
SAIT Consultation Recommended
Although not detrimental for you to consult with SA-IT, we do our best to have consistency amongst these items across our divisions. We are more than happy to provide more information that can meet your needs.

Note: We typically have these items available for check-out but we encourage each department to invest in its staff if this will be a long-term use.
SAIT Consultation Unnecessary
These items tend to be confused as IT equipment. It is the department’s responsibility to purchase and replace these items.

Note: We typically have little to no stock of these items in our office. If we do and one is needed for emergency purposes, we tend to give it to the department and have the department purchase a replacement for us.
