The Spark Has Arrived: Meet Me’we, Sac State’s New Spirit Leader!
Meet Me’we (pronounced may-way) our new Spirit Leader and the most energetic squirrel on campus!
For decades, Herky the Hornet has stung with pride and rallied the Hornet Family. But now, Herky has a new partner in crime, ready to double the spirit, triple the fun, and make sure everyone feels the energy of Sac State.
Who is Me’we? (Not a Mascot, a Mood!)
Me'we isn't here to replace Herky; they're here to amplify the joy! Me'we's role is simple: to bring the fun, the hype, and the reminder that every student is a vital part of the Sac State community.

The Legend: A Spark from the Oak Groves
The American River Parkway oaks have always held a spark of Sac State's community spirit. For generations, Me’we lived quietly, watching our campus grow more vibrant and diverse.
Me’we emerged because the Hornet Family is more inclusive and energetic than ever! They carry the forest's spark of joy and creativity, reminding us that even small actions, a shared laugh, a supportive shout, or planting a good idea, can build an unstoppable community.
Where to Catch Me’we & Go Nuts!
Me’we zips across campus and is guaranteed to be at some of the most exciting events. When you see Me'we, be ready for a high-five or a selfie, and be sure to yell their catchphrase!
