PERSIST

Paving, Excellence, Retention, Success in Student Trajectories (PERSIST) is designed to meet the needs of students who are in their second-year of college at California State University, Sacramento.

Our mission is to increase second-year students retention and decrease their time to graduate. The program provides a series of workshops including, academic planning, wellness, financial aid and workforce skills development for students to make a smooth transition to their upper division course material. Overall, we aim to engage and retain second-year students at California State University, Sacramento.

What We Do

PERSIST provides campus resource support, college level advising, progress to degree workshops, registration assistance, one-on-one advising, wellness, financial aid, and workforce information.

Who We Serve

PERSIST serves second year students that have an overall cumulative 2.4 grade point average and above and have declared a major.

Our Workshops

How We Help Our Students

  • Enroll students the following semester in 15 units or more
  • Provide students with financial aid and FAFSA information
  • Help students understand University’s academic requirements, policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with community members and bring workforce skill workshops to students
  • Get students involved in campus activities
  • In conjunction with The Well provide Active Minds - Stress Less, Worry Less workshop presentations.
  • Get students connected to campus resources and mentoring opportunities
