Women's History Month 2026
Each March, the Women’s Resource Center (WRC) proudly leads and collaborates on signature programs that celebrate women’s leadership, honor community legacies, and create spaces for connection, creativity, and empowerment. Women’s History Month (WHM) at Sacramento State centers visibility, dignity, hope, and collective growth. Below are our 2026 events:
Strike A Pose: WHM Kick-Off Group Photo
Date: March 2, 2026
Time: 12 p.m.
Location: At the Library Quad
The WRC invites you to kick off WHM with joy, pride, and community.
Join us in the Library Quad for a powerful group photo celebrating the beginning of Women’s History Month. Let’s fill the space with strong faces, bright smiles, and positive energy as we honor the women who inspire us.

Women Who Bloomed
A CARC x WRC Collaboration
Date: March 10, 2026
Time: 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Location: University Union, 2nd Floor – Cottonwood Suites
Women Who Bloomed is a CARC collaborative community art experience honoring women who have shaped history past, present, and emerging while creating space for students to reflect on their own journeys of growth, resilience, and leadership.
Through the creation of personal flower bouquets, participants honor women who inspire them, including themselves, and contribute to a shared visual expression of collective strength, care, and legacy.
Participants may dedicate their bouquet to:
- A woman in their life
- An ancestor or elder
- A historical or cultural figure
- A caregiver, educator, or activist
- Themselves

Her Table: A Leaders Lunch
Date: March 16, 2026
Time: 12 – 2 p.m.
Location: Harper Alumni Center
HER Table: A Leaders Lunch is a signature Women’s History Month event designed to inspire the career and leadership pathways of diverse women in the Northern California region. The luncheon fosters mentorship and networking opportunities among students, faculty, staff, and professionals.
HER Table supports Sacramento State’s commitment to:
- Fostering an Environment of Dignity and Hope through community-building and expanded professional support networks
- Elevating Sacramento State as a national brand by showcasing women leaders whose impact strengthens student success
- Through connection and storytelling, the luncheon enhances the visibility of the Women’s Resource Center’s commitment to leadership development, empowerment, career readiness, and educational excellence.

Guests may park without a permit in designated STUDENT parking spaces (highlighted) in Lot 8 on Monday, March 16, 2026, between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.
We recommend allowing extra time for parking and walking to the event location.

Menstruation & Nutrition: Centering Inclusive Care
Date: March 17, 2026
Time: 1:30 – 2:30 p.m.
Location: The Cove, The WELL
The Women’s Resource Center and The PRIDE Center, in collaboration with Student Health, Counseling, and Wellness Services (SHCWS) invites you to a workshop on Menstruation and Nutrition.
Periods don’t have to be miserable. This interactive workshop explores ways to manage menstruation discomfort through nutrition and evidence-based care. Centering accessibility and gender inclusivity, this space welcomes all students and recognizes that menstrual health impacts people of diverse identities and experiences.
Participants will learn practical strategies to better understand and manage their unique cycles in a supportive and affirming environment.

Empower With Power: Free Self-Defense Seminar
Date: April 2
Time: 12 p.m. – 1 p.m.
Location: Yosemite Hall 183
Join this free self-defense seminar in collaboration with Associated Students, Inc. and Combat U. Participants will learn situational awareness, personal safety strategies, and practical self-defense techniques guided by experienced coaches. No prior experience is required, making it accessible for beginners interested in building confidence and safety skills.
Cross Campus Women-Inspired Events
A Native Women’s Brunch: Where Our Voices Meet
The Esak’timá Center invites you to join us for A Native Women’s Brunch: Where Our Voices Meet, a gathering dedicated to connection, community, and conversation.
This special event creates space for Native women to come together, share experiences, and build meaningful connections across campus and the broader community.

This brunch is centered on fostering dialogue, strengthening relationships, and uplifting Native women’s voices in a welcoming and supportive environment.
Thank You Mama: A Black Women’s Gratitude Workshop
The MLK Center, in collaboration with the Women’s Resource Center, invites you to join us for Thank You Mama: A Black Women’s Gratitude Workshop, a gathering dedicated to reflection, gratitude, and honoring the legacy of Black women.
This special Sista’s Circle creates space for students, faculty, and staff to write heartfelt letters to the Black women who have inspired, guided, and uplifted them across generations.

This event centers celebration, storytelling, and community connection, uplifting the strength, wisdom, and impact of Black women in a welcoming and affirming environment.
Queens of R&B and Hip Hop: A Celebration of Women’s History Month
Unique Programs invites you to join us for Queens of R&B and Hip Hop, an evening dedicated to honoring the women whose voices, artistry, and influence have shaped music and culture.
This celebration creates space for students to gather in community, dance, and recognize the lasting impact of women in R&B and Hip Hop — past and present.
As part of the evening, students can participate in a free Cowboy Hat Making Station, inspired by the bold creativity and cultural influence of today’s icons. (Hats are available to the first 150 students.)

Café y Conversación: Celebrating Women’s History Month
Date: March 18, 2026
Time: 1:30 – 3 p.m.
Location: El Centro Serna, River Front Center
In honor of Women’s History Month, El Centro Serna invites you to a special Café y Conversación focused on celebrating the voices, resilience, and contributions of Latine and first-generation women in our community.
Join us for an afternoon of connection and conversation as we uplift stories, build comunidad, and strengthen our sense of familia. This space centers empowerment, shared experiences, and honoring the women who inspire and lead across generations.

Social en el Serna: The Stories We Carry

Location: El Centro Serna, Riverfront Center (across from Lassen Hall)
In celebration of Women’s History Month, El Centro Serna, in collaboration with Mujeres Ayudando La Raza, invites you to Social en el Serna: The Stories We Carry.
Join us for an afternoon of creativity, connection, and community as we honor the stories, resilience, and impact of women in our communities. Participants will enjoy tote painting, fun photo opportunities, and the chance to learn more about each organization and the work they do to support and uplift students.
Free snacks, refreshments, and materials included.
Open to all students, faculty, and staff.
