Examples include tutoring & mentoring, community outreach, harvesting & distributing meals, and other hands-on services. These direct service activities must occupy a minimum of 300 hours (80%) out of the total 360 service hours.

Indirect Service are activities that support the organization behind the scenes. Examples include research, preparing materials, and administrative or logistical support. These indirect service activities must not exceed 60 hours (20%) out of the total 360 service hours.
