Residence Halls and Suites

The Housing complex houses approximately 2,100 students.

First year students live in one of our six Residence Halls surrounding The Servery at the Dining Commons and quad area.

Amenities include:

  • Furnished, smoke-free rooms
  • Utilities: heating, air conditioning, laundry facilities, internet connection, and Wi-Fi
  • Xfinity - Digital TV service with over 120 channels
  • ResLife Cinema – Free movies each month. Stream on computer or TV
  • Recreation room with game tables, big screen TV, kitchenette and vending machines
  • Swimming pools, tennis and basketball courts
  • On-campus meal option

American River Courtyard

American River Courtyard is intended for sophomores, juniors, seniors, transfer, international and graduate students.

The hall houses 606 residents in an apartment-style suite setting.

Room Options

There are a variety of rooming options for students.

  • 1 Bath Studio
  • 2 Bedroom, 2 Bath Suite (4 residents)
  • 2 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom Apartment (4 residents)
  • 4 Bedroom, 2 Bath Suite (4 residents)
  • 5 Bedroom, 2 Bath Suite (5 residents)

Room Furnishings

Each room is furnished with extra-long twin beds (80") which may be bunked if desired, desk and chair, closet/wardrobe, trash and recycle containers, carpet and window coverings.

  • Each bedroom suite provides contemporary, attractive, moveable furniture that includes an extra-long twin bed, mattress, desk/chair, dresser, wardrobe and/or closet, window blinds.
  • Each living room includes L-shaped sofa and a coffee table.
  • Two full bathrooms in each suite/apartment offer more privacy and no waiting in line for showers. Most rooms have vinyl flooring.
  • Studio units do not have stove/oven.

Room Amenities

  • All bedrooms are approximately 11 x 10'.
  • Kitchenettes include a full-size (14.5 cu. ft.) refrigerator, microwave, counter top space, sink and garbage disposal.
  • Apartments include all of the above, plus a stove and oven.

Desmond Hall

Desmond Hall is a co-ed residence hall that houses approximately 250 students.

  • There are double rooms and a limited number of deluxe-double rooms.
  • The building is organized by alternating rooms with separate male and female bath facilities.

Riverview Hall

Riverview Hall, named for its views of the American River, features a fitness center, cardio studio, study lounges, computer lab, game and movie lounge, laundry room, community and classroom space for events.

The hall offers options for both all undergraduate students:

  • First-year students: Double Rooms
  • Sophomores/Upper-Class students: 8 Single Bedrooms in a Cluster Concept with a shared bathroom
