About Placer Campus
Welcome to the Placer Campus
Sacramento State Placer is a “Communiversity” (Dr. Vajra Watson, 2023) partnership with Sierra College. The Sacramento State Placer location will offer unique bachelor of science degrees, not available on the main Sacramento State campus, specifically designed to meet the industry and workforce needs, and keep local talent in Placer County and the region. Degrees will be seamlessly accessible to both Sacramento State and Sierra College students, and student life and services will be shared between the two campus partners to provide the best support for learning and quality of the student experience.
The Sacramento State Placer Difference
There are several aspects of Sacramento State Placer that will make it a very different experience for students:
- Sierra College students will not have to re-apply to move into Sacramento State Placer four-year degree programs that are connected to Sierra College two-year degree programs.
- Students entering the Sacramento State main campus will have the ability to complete their degrees in programs offered at Sacramento State Placer.
- Sacramento State Placer is Sacramento State, and Sacramento State faculty will provide instruction at the main campus and Placer locations.
- Sacramento State Placer students will benefit from direct industry connections, building on the strong partnerships Sierra College has established in the region.
Our commitment to career development and industry partnerships inspires students to make an impact today and into tomorrow, and prepares graduates who are equipped to tackle real-world challenges and grow solutions.
We are more than a campus—we’re a catalyst for innovation and sustainability.
