Your OneCard has many uses. You can load funds on your Hornet Bucks Account and make purchases and payments all over campus. Your card is also your library card, commuter pass for the Hornet Shuttle, Sacramento RT and LightRail, a printer card for the computer labs, and a way to get free admission to athletics events and various other student activities all over campus.
Unlimited RT Bus and Lightrail Rides
With your student OneCard and the current semester commuter sleeve, you can ride Sacramento Regional Transit buses and Light Rail anywhere, anytime, for free!
University employees with faculty and staff OneCard's may purchase an employee commuter sleeve from University Transportation and Parking Services (UTAPS) for their OneCard ($40 for six months) and also ride e-tran, RT and Light Rail at no additional cost.
2020/2021 Commuter Sleeves available in person or by mail:
- Order online through the Parking Services website and have it mailed directly to you
- Pick up in person at the UTAPS office in its new location at the Welcome Center near the J Street entrance of campus.
Hornet Bucks is an on-campus debit system administered through Sac State. You can deposit money onto your Hornet Bucks account then each time you make a purchase, the purchase amount is deducted from your account. To check your Hornet Bucks account balances and find a list of where you used your OneCard, log into your My Sac State account. Hornet Bucks do not earn interest and they carry over from semester to semester. Hornet Bucks are accepted at the following campus locations:
Printing in Computer Labs
Union Games Room
Peak Adventures - Bike Shop
Student Health Center (Pharmacy, Glasses)
Bursar's Office (tuition, parking permits, lab fees)
Parking Permit Machines
University Transportation and Parking Services (parking permits, citations)
Campus eateries: Gordito Burrito, Gyro 2 Go, Jamba Juice, Panda Express, Round Table Pizza, Saigon Bay, Subway
Use your MySacState to access OneCard services and deposit to your OneCard Hornet Bucks Account online using Visa, Mastercard or Discover.
Online Guest Access
Use your MySacState to access OneCard services and create a guest account for parents and friends. Then they can access an online portal and deposit funds directly to your Hornet Bucks account.
Hornet Bucks Station
The LED display on the front of every Hornet Bucks Station gives you step-by-step instructions. Your cash deposit is credited to your account and available for your use right away. You can also check your account balance at any Hornet Bucks Station. They accept $1s, $5s $10s, $20s, $50s and $100s and can be found in the following locations:
University Union first floor, next to the PrintSmart stations
Library main floor, across from the circulation desk
Academic Information Resource Center (AIRC) Lab, Room 2004
American River Courtyard Computer Lab
Come to Lassen Hall, Room 1001 and make a cash or check deposit. Please make all checks payable to: "CSUS".
Mail In Deposit Form
You can mail-in check deposits to the Bursar's Office. Just use our simple Mail-In Deposit Form (Please allow sufficient processing time if mailing a deposit.) Please make all checks payable to: "CSUS".
Bank Bill Pay
Process a Bill Payment from your banking institution. You can make a one time payment or automatic payment directly from your checking account. Just contact your banking institution and request a "bill pay" to Sac State Bursar's Office*. You'll need the following information:

Include the student ID number (9 digit number) and student's name.
Include where you would like your payment to be sent: "OneCard Hornet Bucks".
*Please note that the bill pay can take 5 or more business days to arrive at the Bursar's Office. Therefore, be sure to allow sufficient time for you payments to be processed.
Hornet Bucks Statement and Refunds
You may check your Hornet Bucks account balance and view a detailed list of recent transactions through your My Sac State account. Account statements may also be requested in person at the Bursar's Office in Lassen Hall, Room 1001.
A refund check may be requested only upon separation from the University and only if the amount remaining on the card is over $5.00.
Need the perfect gift for your co-worker or student? Put money on their OneCard! Email us the OneCard Gift Certificate Request Form then stop by OneCard Services in Lassen Hall, Room 1001 to make your gift deposit. We will provide you with a personalized "Gift Certificate" for the recipient, upon request.
Free Admission to Athletic Events
Get in for free to all regular season home athletic events and other various student activities on campus. Visit the hornetsports.com for sports schedules.
Your Sacramento State OneCard is accepted at the Library to check out books and other materials. Just present your card at the checkout counter for easy check out of books and other library materials.
You can also use your OneCard at the Library Media Center to borrow laptops, check out CDs and Feature Films/Movies and take advantage of the slide projectors, overhead projectors and TV/VCR/DVD Viewing Rooms.
Your OneCard also serves as your Printer/Photocopier Card. All regularly enrolled students who have paid their fees receive an allotment of free prints that can be used in any University PrintSmart lab. (CCE and ELI Students not eligible). The frequency and number of prints are determined by the IRT department (916-278-7941). These prints are loaded into your PrintSmart account on your OneCard. Your PrintSmart balance is only viewable at the printer release stations and will not be visible at the Hornet Bucks Stations or on your Hornet Bucks Online Statement.
Note: Your PrintSmart account is a separate account from your Hornet Bucks account and does not roll over every academic year.
