Spotlight On Chemistry at Sac State
COVID-19 Operation Changes
The Department Office and most Chemistry Department operations have switched to remote operations and will stay that way until Sacramento State restrictions are eased. You can still reach the office through email or phone (email will be responded to faster) as shown in the Contact Us box at the bottom center of this web page.
To contact an individual instructor for an office hour (e.g. by Zoom), use the Meet Us link at the bottom right of this web page.
Students in a first year/introductory Chemistry Class (Chem 4, 1A, 1B, 1E, 6A, and 6B) should also use the Help Office Hours for Zoom sessions. Students needing to reach the department chair can reach him at the Chair Office Hours during his drop-in hours. You also can schedule a meeting with him by emailing the office.
Chemistry Diagnostic Exams are not being held currently. See the General Chemistry Requirement Page for updates on requirements and the CHEM 1A/CHEM 1 Eligibility Information page for the latest update.
The Chemistry Department at Sacramento State offers a BS in Chemistry, a BS in Biochemistry, a BA in Chemistry (including concentrations in Biochemistry or Forensic Chemistry), and the MS degree in Chemistry (including a concentration in Biochemistry).
We’d love to meet you! Please contact the department to schedule a tour once normal operations have resumed.
