65th Street Corridor Fundraising

Let's Support 65th Street Corridor Project

The 65th Street Corridor Community Collaborative Project (65th Street Corridor Project) is within the Department of Ethnic Studies, which is composed of four programs: Asian American Studies, Chicanx/Latinx, Studies, Native American Studies and Pan African Studies.

The 65th Street Project is a high-impact and multi-component community effort aimed at increasing student academic achievement, fostering student leadership, and improving parent participation for children living in neighborhoods where a lack of access to resources but a dream for a better tomorrow create a need for innovative, culturally responsive strategies.

Currently, the 65th Corridor Project operates at Hiram Johnson High School, Will C. Wood Middle School, and most recently we are partnering with Elder Creek Elementary School expanding the Ethnic Studies History project.Whereas Hiram Johnson Ethnic Studies engages the Tutoring/ Mentorship Program with recently adding the Ethnic Studies History Project, the Will C Wood Middle School projects include the Ethnic Studies History Project, the Student Bridge Field Trip, Book Club Field trip, Parent Field trip, and the 8th Grade Ethnic Studies course.

Operating from a principal of reciprocity, we invite Sacramento State students taking Ethnic Studies and Sac State Ethnic Studies majors to engage this community service as a means of gaining the practical leadership experiences while providing meaningful and high impact service to the community. This project centers on the idea that life opportunities are directly linked to gaining access and engaging educational opportunities.

We appreciate any amount you are willing to donate to this worthwhile effort.

Thank you.
