Academic Student Employee Positions
The Bargaining Unit 11 represents the classifications of Instructional Student Assistants (ISA), Graduate Assistants (GA), and Teaching Associates (TA).
Instructional Student Assistant (ISA) Position
- This position is open to undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students.
- Not Eligible: Credential students, Open University, Sacramento State staff and faculty
- Unit enrollment and GPA eligibility minimums apply
Graduate Assistants (GA) & Teaching Associates (TA) Positions
- Students MUST BE registered in a graduate degree program or doctoral program at Sacramento State
- Work assignments must be closely associated to the program of study or in the academic department in which they are enrolled
- Not Eligible: Credential students, Open University, Sacramento State staff and faculty
- Unit enrollment and GPA eligibility minimums apply

Fall & Spring Semesters Only*
Undergraduate Student Academic Requirements
Overall GPA Minimum: 2.5 (Newly admitted: 2.25)
Minimum Semester Unit Enrollment: 6
Maximum Semester Unit Enrollment: 15
Graduate Student Academic Requirements
Overall GPA Minimum: 3.0 (Newly admitted: 2.50)
Minimum Semester Unit Enrollment: 4
Maximum Semester Unit Enrollment: 12
Exception to Unit Requirement: Continuous Enrollment
International Students
International Students must hold either an F1 or J1 visa. Hiring departments/programs will be verifying eligibility with the International Students & Global Engagement (IPGE) office.
*Winter/Summer Breaks - Students will not be required to be enrolled in units during the winter or summer breaks.
