"Review and Analysis of Privatization Efforts in the United States and Abroad." Co-authored with Anne Cowden and Jaime Alvayay CSU, Sacramento School of Business. Faculty Fellows Program, Center for California Studies, California State University, Sacramento.

This research was funded by a grant from the CSU, Faculty Fellows Program. The grant was awarded after a CSU wide competition. The results of the research have been used by State Officials to develop strategies to create an atmosphere supportive of competitive government.

"Alameda Contra Costa County Transit District: 1997 Collective Bargaining Lessons Learned." An analysis of joint problem in a collective bargaining setting. Public report for Alameda Contra Costa Transit District.

"Virtual Parallel Information Technology Units: An Alternative Organizational Structure for the United States Military" Written at the request of General Henry H. Shelton, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Designing organizational structures to retain traditional values while utilizing cutting edge technologies. Available at the office of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Current Research Activities:

Responsive Governmental Structures Research and Analysis of international and domestic practices related to management of privatization, re-engineering, rightsizing, competition, and redesigning local, state, and national governments.

Communication Competence of mono-lingual nurse managers in a multi-lingual work environment. Utilized four instruments to measure levels of communication competence of nurse manager at three different locations in Northern California. The research was self funded and provided information related selection, training and promotion of nurse managers.

Discourse as Problem Solving - A Different Perspective of Labor Relations. Utilization of construction of common language as a method to create open communication systems between labor and management.

Leadership of High Risk Business Ventures - Lesson Learned From U.S. Military Special Operations Units. Transferability of leadership techniques used in high risk military operations to business community.
