To support part-time faculty who often must use personal devices for academic purposes, IRT offers a long-term checkout program of University-managed laptops on a first-come, first-served basis each semester. These classroom-ready laptops come pre-loaded with current technology, software, and automatic security patching.

IRT provides laptops for temporary long-term on and off-campus academic use each semester:
Available by request for part-time faculty without access to a department-issued University-managed device in order to teach classes.
Laptops must be returned at the close of each semester - unless you request a renewal.
Laptops require authentication with your Sac State account username and password and are to be used only for academic purposes.
How to Request/Renew a Laptop
For a new request, please send an email from your Sac State account to your area's IT Consultant (ITC) and include:
- Item(s) requested, first and last name, email address, phone number
The ITC will work with us to process your request. Don't have an ITC in your area, or looking to renew your laptop for a longer checkout? Simply email us at email@example.com.
Laptop Pick-Up & Returns
When a new laptop request is approved, you'll receive a confirmation email to your Sac State account with instructions to come pick up your device. At the close of each semester - unless you have requested a renewal - please return the laptop as soon as possible.
