Laptop Checkout
To support technology access and continuity for Faculty and Staff, IRT offers a long-term Laptop Checkout Program on a first-come, first-served basis. We offer limited quantities of pre-loaded laptops with current technology, software, and automatic security patching.
Student technology resources and tech equity services are supported in partnership with the CSU's CSUCCESS program:
Long-Term Checkout
IRT provides laptops for temporary long-term on and off-campus use.

New and Continuing Faculty and Staff who need a laptop for Fall 2022 and beyond are eligible. The checkout window is automatically extended without needing to re-apply.

One (1) laptop can be checked out through the end of a semester. However, whenever you're finished using the device, please follow the return instructions to return it as soon as possible to help your fellow Hornets.

Laptops require authentication with your Sac State account username and password and are to be used for coursework, teaching, or business purposes.
How to Request a Laptop
Faculty & Staff
Please send an email from your Sac State account to your college/division/department's IT Consultant (ITC) and include:
- Item(s) requested, first and last name, email address, phone number
Don't have an ITC in your area? Simply email us at servicedesk@csus.edu.
Process for Student Requests
Students needing a laptop must have a Faculty or Staff member request it on their behalf. Point students to Student Laptop Checkout for more information.
Laptop Pick-Up & Returns
Long-Term Checkout
Once your laptop request is approved (you'll receive a confirmation email to your Sac State account) or needs to be returned, visit the IRT Service Desk to pickup (or return) during open hours.
