Student Laptop Checkout

As part of our student technology equity efforts, IRT and campus partners support on-campus Computer Labs and Virtual Lab access, as well as short and long-term laptop checkout for academic use on a first-come, first-served basis.

Short-term Laptop Checkout

graphic: university union laptop checkout

Laptops/devices are available for short-term (8-hour maximum) on-campus use only for currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate students who are in good standing (no fines or suspensions). You'll need to present a valid Sac State One Card.

Short-term Checkout Locations

If you require a longer duration or off-campus use, we offer a long-term checkout option, below.

Pick-up & Returns

Visit the University Library or the University Union Relaxation Station to check out a 8-hour laptop loaner.

NOTE:
You'll need to return it where you checked it out - please do not return it to the IRT Service Desk in AIRC 2004.

Long-term Laptop Checkout

IRT provides laptop loaners for temporary long-term on and off-campus use:

  • Laptops can be requested any time during the semester for academic purposes. They are first-come first-served and supplies are limited. If you need an alternative, please consider using the computer labs on campus or connecting to the virtual lab.
  • Laptops will use your SacLink account username and password to login. Changing your SacLink password will change the password used to login to the laptop.

How to Request a Laptop

For new requests, fill out this form:

Laptop Checkout Request Form

When a new laptop request is confirmed, you'll receive an email to your Sac State account with instructions to come pick up your device.

Returns

Laptops must be returned or assessed for reissue at the IRT Service Desk at the end of each semester (Fall, Spring, or Summer Session).

Pick-up & Return Location

Laptop pick-up and returns are managed at the IRT Service Desk in AIRC 2005 during open hours.

Lost, Damaged, or Stolen Equipment

Contact the IRT Service Desk team at servicedesk@csus.edu to complete the paperwork on your behalf.
