International Graduate Applicants
International graduate applications are accepted for both Fall and Spring semester intakes, however, not all programs are open for each term. Please refer to the Office of Graduate Studies for the program of interest and respective application filing deadlines.
- Fall 2027 Intake (late August start date ) Application Filing Period: October 01, 2026 – March 14 2027*. However, applications are available beginning July 01, 2026. Deadline for document submission to intldocs@csus.edu is March 28,2027. All required exams (ELPs) must have been taken and a final score received by the deadline.
- Spring 2027 Intake (late January start date) Application Filing Period: August 01 – September 13, 2026 However, applications are available beginning July 01, 2026. Deadline for document submission to intldocs@csus.edu is September 27, 2026. All required exams (ELPs) must have been taken and a final score received by the deadline.
*Please consult the program for confirmed application deadlines and requirements as some dates may be sooner than what is posted above.
Applicants must submit the international application online at Cal State Apply. We strongly recommend that applicants review the Cal State Apply International Student Guide before applying. A non-refundable application fee of $70 USD will need to be paid before submitting the application online using a credit/debit card or PayPal account. Checks or money order are not accepted.

Applicants are required to submit unofficial copies of
- Transcripts * to include all undergraduate and graduate transcripts, marksheets and grading scales.
- Test Scores: All required exams (ELPs) must have been taken and a final score received by the processing deadline of Apirl 03,2026.
- English Language Proficiency ( ELP)
- GRE/GMAT ( will vary by program see Graduate Programs and Deadlines

At the time of enrollment, official transcripts and test scores will be requested. Official documents may be returned to the admitted student upon request.
International Graduate Applicant Requirements
Applicants must posses the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor degree to apply for a graduate program. If you have a 3-year foreign degree, a 3rd party evaluation is recommended to process your application. For all other degrees, International Admissions conducts in-house review of foreign credentials for F-1 and J-1 applicants. A WES evaluation is not required*, but accepted if applicants submit official transcripts and degree certificates through WES (please review the exception for Computer Science below). Please view, below, additional third party credential evaluation agency proceed at their own expense. Transcripts are required to be submitted in the native language, as well as English translation required through a translation agency. Please inquire with your home university first to see if both a translated and original transcript will be provided.
Graduate level applicants are ineligible to apply for a second Master's degree in a field which they already hold a Master's diploma.
*Applicants who apply for the M.S. in Computer Science or M.S. in Computer Science (Software Engineering) are required to submit a WES, ECE, or ACEI evaluation. See below for specific report under the Agency Evaluation Type.

| Financial Statement* It is highly recommended to submit all financial documents at the time of application to avoid delays in Form I-20 processing, should you be extended an admission offer.
