Bicycles on Campus

Bicycle Standards

  • Bicycles are permitted on all campus roadways.
  • Bicycles are not permitted on walking paths and sidewalks. Sacramento State offers three staffed bicycle parking compound on campus.

Bicycle Compounds

Bicycle compounds accommodate hundreds of bicycles and some skateboard

There are four free bicycle compounds on campus, located:

  • south of the Welcome Center
  • adjacent to the Guy West Bridge
  • north of Benicia Hall
  • at the corner of Sinclair Road/Moraga Way

Bicycle Security

Sacramento State Police Department Community Service Officers (CSOs) staff three of the four bicycle compounds (Welcome Center compound not included) during the Fall and Spring semesters from:

  • 8:00am - 10:00pm, Monday - Thursday
  • 8:00am - 5:00pm on Friday

Although the bicycle compounds are staffed to help deter theft, bicycles parked in the compounds are parked at the owner's risk.

  • Bicycle racks are available for use throughout the campus.
  • Bicycle lockers are available for a fee through the ASI Peak Adventures.
