Graduate Commencement Checklist

Checklist

  • Beginning Thursday, October 15, at 9 a.m., eligible graduates may RSVP for their ceremony and claim Commencement guest tickets. Please visit the Commencement website for a step-by-step guide.
  • RSVP for your ceremony by November 20 at noon. We strongly recommend completing your RSVP by this deadline to help ensure the best possible experience as we celebrate you at Golden 1 Center.
  • Purchase your academic regalia before December. All graduates must wear the appropriate cap and gown to participate in Commencement. Regalia may be purchased online at the ASI Student Shop or in person in the University Union, third floor, Room 3231.
  • Request accommodations, if needed, by December 4. Students who need accommodations for a disability should contact the Disability Access Center at DAC@csus.edu by December 4, 2026.
  • Review the Commencement schedule and plan your arrival. Graduates should arrive 90 minutes before their scheduled ceremony.
  • Plan your transportation and parking. Review Golden 1 Center directions and parking information, consider reserving parking in advance with SacPark, and account for traffic and travel time.
  • Bring your Sac State OneCard or a valid photo ID. You will need to present identification when you check in for Commencement at Golden 1 Center.
  • Wear comfortable shoes. Graduates will walk down several flights of stairs to reach the arena floor at Golden 1 Center. An elevator will be available for graduates with accessibility needs.
  • Review Golden 1 Center’s prohibited items. Golden 1 Center is a bagless venue. Balloons, alcohol, air horns, silly string, large bags, and other prohibited items are not permitted. Please review the list of prohibited items and share this information with your guests.
  • Protect your graduate card. Do not lose, tear, or write on the graduate card provided during graduate check in at Golden 1 Center, as it contains the information needed for your name to be announced and displayed as you cross the stage.
  • Review Commencement expectations. Commencement is an alcohol-free and drug-free event. Graduates must comply with the Student Conduct Code, and guest tickets may not be sold or exchanged for money.
